Indra, a prominent British company in the EV charging sector, has announced a strategic partnership with Allstar, a leading provider of fleet solutions. The collaboration will streamline the at-home charging process for fleet drivers, addressing critical challenges in transitioning from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to electric alternatives.

Founded in 2013 and based in Malvern, Indra has quickly established itself in smart energy and EV technology. The company develops cutting-edge EV chargers that integrate seamlessly with cars, homes and the grid.

Matt Noonan, Head of Software Products at Indra

Matt Noonan, Head of Software Products at Indra, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating:

“We are incredibly excited to announce this new partnership between Indra and Allstar. We are confident that this partnership will help solve key challenges to electric vehicle uptake, allowing drivers to retain control and privacy within their homes while enabling fleet managers to manage charging activity efficiently.”

Allstar offers comprehensive fuel and EV charging solutions that streamline operations, reduce costs and enhance efficiency for businesses transitioning to electric vehicles.

Supporting the transition to EV fleets

As the UK government’s 2035 ban on the sale of new ICE vehicles approaches, there is a growing nationwide effort to transition fleets to EVs. The partnership design between Indra and Allstar will make this transition as smooth as possible.

Indra’s full range of smart EV chargers, including the innovative Smart LUX, will now integrate with Allstar’s Homecharge payment platform, offering a comprehensive solution for fleet and business customers.

Ashley Tate, Managing Director at Allstar Chargepass UK

Ashley Tate, Managing Director at Allstar Chargepass UK, highlighted the importance of at-home charging, stating:

“Providing at-home charging is an increasingly critical capability for businesses. Our Homecharge solution, combined with Indra’s advanced EV chargers, ensures that drivers are never out of pocket and that businesses have transparent cost management.”

Addressing fleet management challenges

The partnership directly addresses the critical challenges fleet managers face in transitioning to EVs, such as non-compatible chargers and reimbursement delays.

The integration between Indra’s chargers and Allstar’s platform provides a streamlined solution for at-home charging, enabling fleet drivers to charge vehicles overnight when electricity is cheaper. The collaboration reduces costs and ensures optimal vehicle availability during the day.

Enhanced data sharing and privacy

Through the collaboration, drivers can automatically share charging data with their fleet managers, reducing the need for manual record-keeping and expense submissions.

The platform ensures quick and efficient cost reimbursement, with essential data shared securely while maintaining the privacy of drivers’ energy usage.

Maintaining complete control and access

Indra’s technology ensures that fleet drivers retain full control over their EV chargers. They have access to a wide range of features, including lock charger functionality, solar integration, boost functionality and tariff preferences.

Additionally, drivers will benefit from Indra’s top-tier app and customer support services.

Looking forward

The partnership marks an exciting development in the EV fleet sector, promising convenience, cost-effectiveness and innovation.

Both Indra and Allstar are committed to supporting the growth of electric fleets and are eager to develop their collaboration further, paving the way for a sustainable future in transportation.
