Stellantis Expands SUSTAINera in Brazil

Stellantis Expands SUSTAINera in Brazil
Stellantis expands its SUSTAINera range in Brazil, adding remanufactured parts to support sustainability and carbon neutrality goals by 2038

As Stellantis drives forward in its mission to become a carbon-neutral company by 2038, it's making significant strides in Brazil by expanding its SUSTAINera product portfolio including high-voltage batteries for EVs, among other components.

The move broadens the range of remanufactured automotive parts available in the region, reflecting Stellantis' commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.

Expanding the SUSTAINera range in Brazil

Previously, Stellantis offered five lines of remanufactured parts under the SUSTAINera brand, including turbochargers, steering racks, automatic gearboxes, starters and alternators. The expansion now brings three additional product lines—air conditioning compressors, rear differentials and transfer cases—available at Stellantis dealerships and other distribution channels across Brazil.

Stellantis plans to grow the SUSTAINera catalogue to include 13 product families and over 180 components by the end of 2024.

It will introduce new remanufactured parts like diesel engines, high-pressure pumps, injector nozzles, alloy wheels and electronics, all adhering to OEM specifications.

Commitment to quality and sustainability

The SUSTAINera range is available for all Stellantis vehicle brands sold in Brazil. It is the region's first and only remanufactured parts offered by an automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

The parts are remanufactured to the same rigorous standards as genuine MOPAR parts, ensuring they deliver equivalent performance and have the same warranty. For customers, this means access to more affordable vehicle maintenance options without compromising quality.

Paulo Solti, Vice President of Parts and Services for Stellantis South America

Paulo Solti, Vice President of Parts and Services for Stellantis South America: "A remanufactured part is approximately 20% cheaper than a new part and it's a more sustainable option, using up to 80% less raw material and reducing CO2 emissions by up to 40% during the remanufacturing process."

"This circular economy-focused business model underscores Stellantis' commitment to providing sustainable and affordable product and service solutions."

Industry recognition and circular economy leadership

SUSTAINera is leading the way in the circular economy in Brazil, a commitment recognised by the industry with the 2023 ESG award from Automotive Business.

Stellantis' approach to the circular economy is built on the 4R Strategy—Remanufacture, Repair, Reuse and Recycle—aiming to extend the lifespan of products and reduce waste by reintegrating materials into the production loop.

The strategy plays a key role in Stellantis' overarching decarbonisation plan, which is essential for achieving carbon neutrality by 2038.

SUSTAINera

New sales channels and broader access

Since its global launch in 2022, SUSTAINera has made waves in Brazil, initially distributed through Stellantis brand dealerships.

With the portfolio's expansion, consumers can now purchase SUSTAINera products online at the official store on Mercado Livre and through DPK, a specialised automotive parts distributor with 18 warehouses nationwide. The broader availability ensures more consumers can access high-quality, sustainable automotive parts.

About SUSTAINera: Driving sustainability

The SUSTAINera label identifies sustainable product alternatives within Stellantis' Parts & Services range, providing motorists and repair professionals with eco-friendly, cost-effective solutions. By design, these parts reduce waste, conserve resources and minimise carbon footprints, making them a crucial part of Stellantis' efforts to decarbonise its operations by 2038.

Circular economy at Stellantis: A global vision

Stellantis' circular economy initiatives are comprehensive, covering the entire vehicle lifecycle.

The company's global business unit focuses on remanufacturing, repairing, reusing and recycling to extend the lifespan of parts and vehicles while reducing waste.

Currently, Stellantis offers over 12,000 remanufactured parts across 38 product lines, including EV batteries.

Additionally, it operates 24 E-Repair centres worldwide, recycled materials from production and end-of-life vehicles and reuses multi-brand parts in good condition.

With its expanded SUSTAINera portfolio, Stellantis is enhancing its sustainability credentials and setting new standards in the automotive industry for a more circular and eco-conscious future.
