AIMA has announced the opening of its Electric Vehicle flagship store in Pakistan, catalysing the development of Pakistan’s environmental sustainability

As we navigate the shift to a more integrated, eco-friendly future for our transportation, electric scooters have emerged as a sustainable stepping stone we can use to craft a better tomorrow.

Electric scooters help drive the adoption of electric vehicles by introducing people to electric mobility and sustainable urban living.

They encourage the development of efficient battery technology, smart features and charging infrastructure that can be scaled to larger EVs.

They act as an affordable, practical solution for last-mile transportation, complement public transit and inspire broader EV policies and strategies.

On 17 October 2024, the Chinese electric two-wheeler AIMA, opened its flagship store in Lahore, Pakistan.

The launch of this store is set to mark the beginning of the development of Pakistan’s clean energy industry and a growth in the influence of China’s green technology travel.

AIMA’s flagship store

By opening the AIMA Electric Vehicle flagship store in Pakistan, AIMA has continued highlighting its commitment to enhancing clean energy solutions and the China-Pakistan cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

AIMA’s new flagship store has placed the company at the heart of a growing market in South Asia. Recently, Pakistan has displayed its desire to place a greater emphasis on sustainable transportation and electric vehicles.

By opening this store and offering a range of electric two-wheelers, the company is helping to enhance environmental sustainability in the region and minimise carbon emissions.

AIMA’s flagship store also plays an important role in the company’s wider global strategy to enhance sustainable transportation solutions worldwide and develop a wider market presence.

The organisation has proven its ability to enhance the technology and safety of its exports products by conducting in-depth research on local laws, regulations and user habits and localising many of its operations.

Through this, AIMA is securing its position as a leading, innovative and sustainable electric two-wheeler manufacturer.

A global strategy

AIMA’s expansion into Pakistan is part of the company’s wider global strategy.

In 2015, the organisation revealed that it was opening a flagship European store in Switzerland as the first step in its global strategy and expansion.

The global expansion strategy enhanced the China-Switzerland free-trade agreement from 2013 and was also part of the Chinese Government's ‘One Belt, One Road’ strategy which aimed to improve greater economic ties between China and Europe.

Duan Hua, CEO, AIMA, explained how; "In the wake of the saturation of the Chinese electric scooter market, we began exploring overseas options. 2015 marks the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Switzerland; Switzerland represents the best quality in the world, so, therefore, was the perfect location for us to begin building our global brand strategy.”

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor

A significant infrastructure project under China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) connects Pakistan’s Gwadar Port to Xinjiang and strengthens economic ties between the two countries.

The initiative aims to improve Pakistan’s economy and job market by enhancing its air, rail, road and energy transport infrastructure through large investments in railways, power plants, industrial zones and highways.

AIMA’s opening of its flagship store in Pakistan highlights the incredible influence of China’s renewable travel technology on enhancing the CPEC and improving energy efficiency and cooperation. The company continues highlighting its drive to promote renewable energy solutions and enhance cooperation between China and Pakistan through the CPEC and Belt and Road Initiative.

By providing greater access to electric vehicles through its flagship store, AIMA is emerging as a significant player in the development of Pakistan’s clean energy industry.
