Comcast & EV Connect to streamline and scale EV charging infrastructure, making it more accessible and flexible for cities, businesses and communities

Comcast Smart Solutions, a division of Comcast Corporation focused on smart technologies, has announced a new partnership with EV Connect, offering EV charging management solutions. The collaboration will enable Comcast to expand its EV charging portfolio, offering businesses, cities, campuses and multifamily properties an advanced platform to build, manage and scale EV charging networks more efficiently and flexibly.

Meeting the growing demand for EV infrastructure

EV adoption is accelerating. With advancements in battery technology extending driving ranges, government incentives for EV buyers and rising consumer demand for environmentally conscious alternatives, the shift towards EVs is becoming more prevalent.

However, one of the biggest challenges to widespread EV adoption remains accessible and reliable charging infrastructure.

Michael Slovin, Vice President and General Manager at Comcast Smart Solutions

Michael Slovin, Vice President and General Manager at Comcast Smart Solutions states: "EVs are a rapidly growing sector, but accessible charging infrastructure continues to challenge widespread adoption.

"We are committed to helping Comcast customers address the evolving needs of their business operations. By integrating EV Connect's advanced software management solutions with our robust EV hardware capabilities, we can deliver a customisable and efficient charging experience for all property types."

A flexible and cost-effective charging solution

The partnership brings EV Connect's innovative, open charging management platform into Comcast's EV charging solutions. The platform allows for more flexible integrations with existing hardware, making it easier for businesses and property owners to manage costs while ensuring reliable charging options for users.

The system is compatible with most Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) chargers, which adds an element of flexibility in terms of pricing, enabling dynamic pricing, flat rates or metered options tailored to the property's needs.

Key features and benefits of EV Connect's platform
  • Interoperability with OCPP chargers: EV Connect's platform supports seamless communication with most OCPP-compliant charging stations, ensuring broad compatibility and easier system integration.
  • Dynamic pricing and revenue opportunities: The system offers flexible pricing models, including dynamic pricing and flat rates, enabling property owners and businesses to optimise pricing based on real-time demand while generating revenue.
  • Customisable solutions: Businesses can customise their charging stations through white-label solutions, API integration and options to add features like loyalty programs, memberships and fleet management.
  • Flexible hardware procurement: EV Connect's platform supports integration with various OEMs, allowing businesses to choose from a range of hardware providers to manage costs effectively.
  • Real-time reporting and metrics: The platform provides streamlined tools for performance tracking and management of charging stations, offering businesses real-time data and insights.

Expanding charging infrastructure

Bassem Ammouri, COO of EV Connect

Bassem Ammouri, COO of EV Connect highlights: "Businesses investing in EV charging need more than hardware — they need intelligent tools to manage and optimise their operations.

"By collaborating with Comcast Smart Solutions, we're bringing cutting-edge tools and flexibility to businesses, empowering them to deliver smarter, faster and more adaptable charging solutions to their users."

The collaboration between Comcast Smart Solutions and EV Connect is part of a larger movement to address the growing demand for EV charging infrastructure in urban and suburban settings. Comcast Business and Xfinity Communities customers will benefit from access to enhanced EV charging options, improved performance and more flexible pricing models as part of the agreement.

In addition to EV Connect, Comcast's technology provider ecosystem includes NovaCHARGE, a key partner in delivering EV charging solutions. NovaCHARGE provides hardware, software, management tools and a proactive maintenance service called NovaBOT, enabling customers to expand and scale their charging networks effectively.

With NovaCHARGE and EV Connect, Comcast offers a comprehensive solution for businesses, cities and multifamily properties to adapt to the rapidly changing EV landscape.

EV Connect
