How Monta is Teaming Up with Tesla for Fleet Charging
Danish EV charging platform Monta has announced an integration with Tesla’s home Wall Connector, providing a streamlined digital reimbursement solution for corporate fleets.
The new feature enables businesses to reimburse employees for charging company EVs at home through Monta’s automated technology.
The Copenhagen-based company addresses a growing need in corporate fleet management as the number of EVs in Europe has surged by 50% between 2020 and 2023, reaching 14.8 million vehicles.
Although overall EV sales have slowed in 2024, fleet electrification remains a pivotal area for growth. Businesses are increasingly turning to EV home chargers to replace traditional fuel cards, allowing employees to charge vehicles conveniently while ensuring reimbursement for associated costs.
Monta's CEO and Co-Founder, Casper Rasmussen, explains: “With 6 out of 10 new cars being company vehicles, businesses are increasingly seeking efficient solutions for employee charging reimbursement.
"We’re excited to integrate with Tesla's Wall Connector, one of the most popular models in the market. We're making it easier to transition to electric vehicles and accelerating the green transformation across Europe.”
Alongside home charging, Monta users gain access to a network of more than 500,000 public charging points across Europe. This comprehensive approach makes Monta a vital partner for companies adopting EVs.
Corporate fleets and the push for CO2 reduction
Corporate fleets are pivotal in reducing emissions, as they account for 74% of CO2 output from new vehicles. Yet, businesses lag behind private consumers in EV adoption.
In 2024, battery electric vehicles represented only 14.1% of corporate car sales, compared to 15.6% in the private market. This trend highlights the untapped potential for corporate fleets to drive environmental progress.
“Monta is proud to integrate with Tesla Wall Connector to deliver a solution that not only helps lower emissions but also streamlines the transition to electric vehicles for businesses,” Casper adds.
“Monta shares a commitment to exceptional user experiences, which is key to driving widespread EV adoption.”
Tax incentives and corporate sustainability goals are prompting companies to reconsider their approach to fleet electrification. By simplifying reimbursement for home charging, Monta removes a significant barrier to EV adoption in the workplace.
