Eaton and Treehouse have announced strategic partnership to enhance adoption of residential electrification projects and EV charging

In the transition to a green future, the adoption of electrification and EV charging is essential to improve air quality, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and make significant progress to global climate goals.

However, this adoption is often slow due to a multitude of reasons, such as a lack of knowledge and a reluctance to adopt new technologies.

Global power management company Eaton has announced a collaboration with electrical contractor, Treehouse, to accelerate the energy transition in US homes.

The partnership will mean that Eaton will supply solutions to support residential projects and be the main technology supplier for Treehouse Installations.

As well as this, the initiative will also support Eaton’s wider commitment to electrification, sustainability and digitalisation, catalysing the organisation’s mission to enhance renewable energy adoption across the world.

Eric Owski, Treehouse CEO, explains: “Eaton is both an industry leader and an innovating pioneer in the electrification age.

“Our collaboration with Eaton will accelerate our ability to deliver turnkey and cost-effective electrification projects, from EV charging to home energy storage and heat pumps.”

Meet Eaton

Eaton is a global power management company that provides a range of energy-efficient services and products to ensure that its customers can effectively, sustainably and reliably utilise hydraulic, electrical and mechanical power.

The company has ambitious sustainability goals - by 2030, Eaton aims to reduce GHG emissions from its operations by 50% (vs 2018 levels) and is striving to have all of its manufacturing sites zero waste-to-landfill certified.

It’s wider mission is ‘to improve the quality of life and the environment’.

Craig Arnold, Chairman and CEO of Eaton, explains: "At Eaton, we make what matters work. By making power safe, efficient and reliable, we improve the quality of life for those who experience our products and services.

"We have the power to make a difference and we do every day."

Eaton accelerates the transition to a green economy through its four-part sustainability strategy:

  • Creating sustainable solutions
  • Reducing the company's footprint
  • Engaging our employees and communities
  • Doing business right and transparency

The collaboration

Through enhancing the adoption of energy storage, heat pumps and EV charging, the partnership will combine Treehouse’s AI-powered software and end-to-end installation capabilities with Eaton’s digital electrical solutions.

The partnership will allow consumers to reduce their carbon footprint at home and catalyse their energy transition.

To minimise issues surrounding a lack of knowledge, consumers will be provided with accurate and fast pricing and access to licensed electricians by Eaton and Treehouse in order to carry out code-compliant installations.

“At Eaton, we’re all in on the energy transition and we’re making it happen at scale by delivering breakout technologies and industry collaborations needed to delight customers and make it more accessible and affordable,” comments Paul Ryan, General Manager of Connected Solutions and EV Charging at Eaton.

“Treehouse consistently ranks among the highest in customer loyalty and satisfaction, which is vital for Eaton and our joint customers. We’re confident this collaboration will streamline and expedite US electrification projects, driving consistency, reliability and sustainability - while saving time and money.”

To support these residential projects, Eaton will provide several solutions, including its Green Motion EV chargers, span of smart home solutions and AbleEdge home energy management ecosystem.

The collaboration will help improve Eaton’s ‘Home as a Grid’ approach, which aims to enhance the energy transition and lower the carbon footprint.

The pair of companies will strive to simplify the energy transition by incorporating many measures into its work, including providing consumers with detailed project plans and accurate plans for greater transparency, helping electricians save time by utilising the most effective and innovative hardware and minimising challenges to electrification by deploying the smartest solutions.

Treehouse’s sustainability plan

Treehouse is an electrical contractor that embraces electrification through its platform.

The organisation strives to simplify electrification and craft a better tomorrow by propelling the decarbonisation of many locations.

Treehouse provides a range of electrification services, including home electrical services, residential EV charging and commercial EV charging. By providing this span of services, the organisation can streamline the electrification process.

Through this collaboration, Treehouse's end-to-end installation platform will be available for The Eaton Certified Contractor Network.

This platform will support design, scoping, permitting and installation.

By doing this, the pair of organisations can accelerate and streamline retrofit and new construction projects, whilst making sure the most efficient solutions are leveraged consistently.
