Emporia & Treehouse: Home EV charging & installation
Emporia partners with Treehouse to offer credits and seamless installation, removing barriers to EV adoption with affordable home charging solutions

Emporia Energy, a provider of home energy management solutions, has unveiled a US$100 credit program for its Level 2 EV chargers. It is also partnering with Treehouse, a leading electrification platform. The collaboration aims to simplify the home EV charger installation process, offering homeowners a seamless and cost-effective experience nationwide.

Innovating home energy management

Emporia Energy has long been at the forefront of home energy innovation.

The company's comprehensive Home Energy Management Platform integrates devices like the Vue Home Energy Monitor, Level 2 EV Charger, Smart Plugs and Home Batteries into a centralised system.

The platform enables homeowners to monitor and automate their energy consumption, helping reduce costs and carbon footprints through an intuitive app.

With the launch of its US$100 credit for residential EV chargers, Emporia highlights its commitment to making clean energy accessible and affordable for all.

Treehouse partnership: Simplifying the journey

Treehouse, known for its expertise in electrification projects, plays a pivotal role in the partnership. The platform manages every step of the charger installation process, from quoting and design to permitting and execution.

The partnership eliminates the need for customers to find and manage electricians, addressing a significant hurdle in EV adoption.

Shawn McLaughlin, CEO of Emporia Energy

Shawn McLaughlin, CEO of Emporia Energy, stated:  "Pairing our commitment to customer satisfaction with Treehouse's trusted end-to-end installation process ensures that purchasing and setting up an EV charger in your home is easier than ever."

Affordable and accessible solutions

Emporia's Energy Star Certified Level 2 EV Charger is priced at US$399 and comes with features designed for versatility and ease of use. Compatible with all EVs, the charger supports up to 48 A charging, enabling full charges within five – eight hours.

It offers options for hardwired or plug-in installations, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Treehouse complements these features by mitigating expensive electrical panel upgrades and leveraging Emporia's PowerSmart load management technology to optimise energy flow. The innovation ensures that even homes with limited capacity can accommodate a Level 2 charger without incurring additional costs.

Addressing barriers to EV adoption

As EV adoption surges — driven by a 40% increase in US registrations in 2023 according to the International Energy Agency — charging infrastructure remains a bottleneck. Emporia and Treehouse aim to solve this "last mile" problem by offering reliable and affordable installation options.

Eric Owski, Co-Founder and CEO of Treehouse, highlights the shared vision behind the partnership: "We are thrilled to be partnering with Emporia to make purchasing and installing a home EV charger simpler and more affordable for homeowners nationwide.

"The partnership reflects our commitment to accelerating electrification by removing major barriers to EV adoption."

Incentives for customers

Beyond the US$100 credit, homeowners may benefit from additional incentives. Federal tax credits can cover up to 30% of the charger and installation costs (up to US$1,000), while local utilities may offer further rebates. The incentives and Emporia's competitive pricing make the transition to EV ownership more attainable for a wider audience.

Emporia and Treehouse: Paving the way for EV adoption

The partnership between Emporia and Treehouse represents a significant step in advancing EV adoption. By addressing cost and accessibility challenges, the collaboration ensures that more homeowners can easily embrace EVs.

As the EV market grows, initiatives like this will play a critical role in shaping a sustainable and inclusive EV future. With their combined expertise, Emporia and Treehouse set a new standard for simplifying home energy solutions and supporting the global shift toward cleaner transportation.
