Stellantis to achieve net-zero carbon by 2038 through continuing its electrification and technology transformation, shares Natalie Knight, Stellantis CFO

One of the world’s leading automakers and a mobility provider, Stellantis, is a constellation of 14 iconic automotive brands and two mobility arms. The core of the company is about more than transportation — it’s about moving people and making connections.

The company’s storied and iconic brands include Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, Vauxhall, Free2move and Leasys. Stellantis is on the road to becoming the greatest sustainable mobility tech company — not necessarily the biggest — while generating added value for all stakeholders as well as the communities in which it operates.

As it transforms into a sustainable mobility tech organisation, it closely follows the guidance of the Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, which paves the way for Stellantis to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2038 and be second to none in value creation for all stakeholders.

The company focuses on electrification and software development, with cutting-edge technologies at the heart of its products and services, it aims to develop, engineer, manufacture, and scale the best breakthroughs in all facets of sustainable mobility. This includes autonomous, connected, electrified, shared and pre-owned vehicles to micro-mobility, commercial vehicles, and even electric aircraft.

With industrial operations in more than 30 countries and customers in more than 130 markets, Stellantis is proud to be among the most diverse companies in the world and able to unite people and ideas across borders and cultures, providing freedom of mobility tailored to every need.

“Today, we are focused on maintaining our momentum by delivering industry-leading profitability and cash flows, addressing critical near-term industry challenges, and continuing our electrification and technology transformation,” shares Natalie Knight, Chief Financial Officer of Stellantis. Knight has held the position since July 2023, having moved to Stellantis from her role as CFO at leading food retail group Ahold Delhaize.

“This growth is propelling the execution of our Dare Forward 2030 strategy.”

Growth in electrification and technology development

Stellantis reports that Global BEV sales have gone up 37% in comparison to Q3 2022, driven by the Jeep Avenger, as well as growing commercial BEV vehicles sales of the Citroën ë-Berlingo.

Peugeot is utilising STLA Medium - the first of Stellantis’ four global BEV-by-design platforms - with the new E-3008, offering a best-in-class range of up to 560km, rapid charging from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes, and 210 hp.

Fiat has also launched the 600e, which boasts state-of-the-art safety features and an electric range of more than 400 km and  the new Topolino micro-mobility offer with a 75 km range and a safe top speed of 45 km/h.

In terms of facility development, all-electric van production has begun at Ellesmere Port — the UK’s first EV-only volume manufacturing plant — and the first Stellantis plant globally dedicated to electric vehicles.

The company also celebrated the opening of its state-of-the-art Battery Technology Center at the Mirafiori complex in Turin, Italy, which enhances capabilities to design, develop and test battery packs, modules, high-voltage cells, and software to power upcoming Stellantis brand vehicles.

Stellantis’ growth is indisputable, and the continued development in the EV realm hints towards exciting developments for daily driving vehicles from some of the best-known brands in Europe. The company is on tracks to continue to rise, following its pillars of simplification, multi-brand approach, customer centricity, and quality assurance.
