As EV sales grow, so does the need for accessible charging stations. ChargePoint addresses this demand through its mobile app, allowing drivers to find, use and pay for charging at any location. With more than one million charging points available, ChargePoint ensures a seamless charging experience wherever drivers live, work and play.

Rick Wilmer, CEO of ChargePoint, states, "With more EVs on the road, ensuring drivers have access to reliable charging everywhere they need is imperative."

"Enabling access to more than one million ports on a network that has driven more than ten billion electric miles underscores ChargePoint's commitment to delivering a world-class driver experience."

The impact of ChargePoint's network

The ten billion electric miles enabled by ChargePoint is equivalent to driving around the world more than 400,000 times.

Notably, around four billion miles were achieved in the last year alone, highlighting the increasing demand for EV charging solutions.

Addressing range anxiety

Range anxiety-the fear that an EV will run out of battery power before reaching a charging station-remains a significant barrier to widespread EV adoption.

Despite advancements in battery technology and increased EV ranges, this anxiety persists.

Modern EVs often exceed 200 miles per charge, with some models surpassing 300 miles.

Expanding fast-charging networks and home charging solutions have also alleviated these concerns.

However, range anxiety affects consumer confidence, especially for long-distance travel and areas with fewer charging stations.

To combat range anxiety, manufacturers are enhancing battery efficiency and capacity. Investments in charging infrastructure, both public and private, are crucial for creating a reliable network of fast charging stations.

Additionally, education and awareness campaigns are essential to inform potential buyers about the actual capabilities of modern EVs and the ease of recharging them.

Charge Point

ChargePoint is committed to electrifying transportation, providing a world-class driver experience that benefits both the planet and business.

The company estimates that its network has helped drivers avoid more than 1.5 billion litres of gasoline and reduced more than 2.2 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

ChargePoint's efforts to expand the charging network and address range anxiety are pivotal in driving the transition to sustainable transportation.
