Top 10: Sustainability Awards in 2024
These ten global awards ceremonies recognise businesses and individuals who are committed to shaping a better future with electric vehicles. Put these dates in your diary and we hope to see you at our own Global Sustainability & ESG Awards, where we celebrate the corporate leaders working hard to develop electric vehicles, so that they can be enjoyed by drivers and planet.
10. Sustainable Future Awards
14th June 2024
The Sustainable Future Awards highlights innovative thinking and excellence in management where such goals are targeted.
There are 29 categories at the Sustainable Future Awards:
- Recycling Excellence and Innovation
- Energy Excellence and Innovation
- Circular Economy Innovation
- Overall Achievement.
There are awards specific to those in the EV sector, such as ‘Sustainable Excellence – Motor Industry’ (such as vehicle recycling).
9. Green World Awards
October 2024
First established in 1994, the awards accept entries from local, regional and national governments around the world. The Green Organisation behind the event supports sustainable transport, from combating pirate trawlers who threaten native fishermen to developing a combustion engine add-on that increases miles per gallon.
At the 2023 Green World Awards in Miami, Brazil’s GRUPO AMBIPAR won the Champion of Champions title. As the winning group, the 2024 awards will now be presented in Brazil, at zero cost to them.
8. Energy Globe Awards
29th February 2024
The aim of the Energy Globe Award is to create awareness and show that everyone can make a positive contribution.
Projects of any size can be submitted to the Energy Globe Awards, from any company, organisation, individual or public authority that supports the fight against climate change. The awards categories are: Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth.
In the Air category projects which improve air quality and avoid CO2 emissions are sought out. This includes projects involving optimisation of combustion processes and the reduction of greenhouse gases and emissions, where EVs fit in.
7. The Seal Awards
23rd April
The SEAL (Sustainability, Environmental Achievement & Leadership) Awards is an awards-driven environmental advocacy organisation.
The SEAL Awards classifications are:
- Business Sustainability Awards
- Environmental Journalism Awards
- Impact Campaigns
- Environmental Research Grants
2023 SEAL Sustainability Award honorees included Cisco, which we included in our Top 10: Mobility Companies.
6. Global Good Awards
3rd May 2024
The Global Good Awards reward businesses, NGOs, charities and social enterprises for their purpose-driven sustainability and ethical leadership. They celebrate leaders who seek to implement ‘practical, scalable and replicable’ sustainability changes.
Categories for the EV sector include ‘Climate Action: Race to Net Zero’, which is open to any organisations that set new standards in lowering the carbon footprint impact of their business activities as part of a clear goal to reach Net Zero.
5. World Car Awards
February - April 2024
Now in its 20th year, the World Car Awards and its jurors want to recognise, reward and inspire automotive excellence, leadership and innovation in the automotive industry.
Awards categories include:
- World Car Design
- World Luxury Car
- World Performance Car
- World Urban Car
- World Electric Vehicle
- World Car of the Year

4. The Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards
14th November 2024
The Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards aims to shine the spotlight on innovation within the EV sector. In one of the world’s most hotly anticipated changes to the way we live, work and travel, innovation and collaboration will be essential to make our roads smarter and safer, and our air cleaner.
In 2023, Osprey Charging won the ‘Chargepoint Network of the Year’ - the company was also featured in our Top 10: Charging Networks in the UK.
3. Clean Tech Open
November 2024
The Cleantech Open Global Ideas competition seeks to find this year’s breakthrough cleantech ideas in industry categories such as; air, water and waste, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green building, smart power and transportation.
The Transportation category looks at applications which fuel efficiency, reduce air pollution, reduce oil consumption or reduce vehicle travel (not limited to vehicles).
The winning team will progress to the Global Finals, which takes place in San Francisco during the Cleantech Open Global Forum in November.
2. Enlighten Awards
6th August 2024
Altair is a global leader in computational science and intelligence, which offers software and cloud solutions for high-performance computing and AI. Altair supports organisations who are working to create a more sustainable future.
The 2024 Award Categories relevant to electric vehicle manufacturers include:
- Sustainable Process: Processes that enable emissions reductions in the engineering phases.
- Module Lightweighting: The mass reduction of a vehicle module or component.
- Responsible AI: Perhaps the most timely category, this recognises responsible AI deployment in the vehicle value chain – from design to engineering.
1. The Global Sustainability & ESG Awards
Coming to Sustainability LIVE London in September 2024, the Global Sustainability & ESG Awards will host corporate leaders and recognise those with extensive commitment to the planet and its people. Leveraging strategic initiatives and economic components, the award winners of the following categories will have shared great achievement in sustainability, environmental; social and governance (ESG), responsible finance and supply chain initiatives.
The Awards categories are open to submissions from all types of businesses and offer a range of team and individual awards to recognise those that champion sustainability for their organisation, and their industry.
Four of the award categories include:
- Sustainability Strategy Award - Recognising outstanding businesses that lead the way in sustainable practices and steer other organisations towards a more environmentally responsible future.
- ESG Programme Award - Honouring exceptional organisations that integrate ESG principles into their core values and activities.
- Sustainable Finance Award - Acknowledging firms that promote sustainable finance, incorporate ESG principles, and are transforming the investment landscape.
- Sustainable Supply Chain Award - Recognising companies that implement sustainability initiatives in their supply chains.
