Ram prioritises its range-extended 2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger, showcasing advanced technology and market leadership in electrified trucks

The future of Ram trucks is taking a bold step forward. In a recent announcement, Stellantis shared its decision to prioritise the range-extended Ram 1500 Ramcharger launch ahead of the highly anticipated Ram 1500 REV. The shift signals a strategic move to meet consumer demand and solidify Ram's position in the evolving EV market.

A change in launch strategy

Initially slated for release in the first half of 2025, the Ram 1500 REV—the Ram's first fully battery-electric light-duty pickup—has been pushed to 2026. Instead, the range-extended Ram 1500 Ramcharger will take centre stage, with consumer orders opening in early 2025.

According to Stellantis, the decision stems from "overwhelming consumer interest" and a noticeable "slowing industry demand for half-ton BEV pickups." By advancing the Ramcharger's launch, Ram aims to maintain its competitive edge in groundbreaking vehicle technology.

Bi-Directional Charging: Vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-home charging options provide flexibility, whether powering another Stellantis EV or feeding electricity back to the grid.

Stunning Stats: With 663 horsepower, 615 lb.-ft. of torque and a 0-60 mph time of just 4.4 seconds, the Ramcharger is built for performance. Its towing capacity reaches a best-in-class 14,000 pounds with a class 5 hitch and boasts a payload capacity of up to 2,625 pounds.
