Space, simplicity and sustainability

Škoda interiors are known for their spaciousness and simple elegance and the Elroq is no exception.

However, the new model takes significant strides in sustainability. Škoda has been actively seeking new, sustainable materials and the Elroq is set to feature the latest innovations.

Its interior retains the classic Škoda design language, with symmetrical architecture and strong horizontal lines. A key feature is the 13-inch touchscreen infotainment display that takes centre stage on the dashboard.

Notably, the Elroq will be the first modern Škoda model to feature the new Škoda logo on the steering wheel, replacing the traditional round logo with the Škoda lettering, complete with an integrated hook accent in the letter 'S'.

Innovative use of recycled materials

What truly sets Elroq apart is its use of sustainable materials. Škoda has designed four interior finish options for the Elroq: Studio, Loft, Lodge and Suite. Each design incorporates more sustainable materials than any previous Škoda models.

Recytitan and Technofil: Leading the Way in Sustainable Materials

Two standout materials in the Elroq's interior are Recytitan and Technofil, which boast impressive sustainability credentials.

Recytitan features prominently in the Loft interior version of the Elroq, used in door panels, seat covers, the dashboard, armrests and knee-rests. The material comprises 78% recycled PET from plastic bottles and 6% mechanically recycled fibres from old clothing.

Only 16% of the fabric is made from new PET, highlighting Škoda's commitment to reducing reliance on virgin materials. The result is an elegant dark grey-blue fabric further enhanced by leatherette elements and reflective yellow stitching.

Technofil is another innovative material found in the Lodge version of the Elroq. Technofil is made from a blend of 75% recycled ECONYL fibres and 25% polyester. ECONYL is a type of nylon created from waste materials, including discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps and carpets.

The material offers excellent resistance to abrasion and wear and is recyclable, maintaining its quality through multiple cycles of reuse. Technofil's black fabric in the Lodge interior is complemented by light grey leatherette, with eye-catching orange stitching and orange seat belts providing a vibrant contrast.

Martin Jahn, Škoda Auto's Board Member for Sales and Marketing, highlights the significance of these innovations, stating that the Elroq represents a "crucial step forward" in the brand's sustainability journey.

He says: "Materials like Recytitan and Technofil are pivotal in not only maintaining high-quality standards but in drastically lowering the carbon footprint of the vehicle's interior components."

As the automotive industry continues to evolve, Škoda's approach with the Elroq offers a glimpse into a future where sustainability is at the forefront of vehicle design, without compromising style, comfort or functionality.
