Meeting the growing demand for EV charging infrastructure

With the surge in EV adoption, the demand for reliable and efficient commercial EV charging infrastructure is set to grow exponentially.

Factors such as regulatory measures, government incentives, infrastructure investments and R&D funding accelerate this transition to electric mobility.

Industry projections estimate a 15-fold expansion in the EV market by 2040 and Schneider Electric aims to meet these growing needs with its latest solution.

The Schneider Charge Pro addresses key market challenges, including fragmentation and unreliable installations, by offering a robust, dependable and user-friendly charging option that supports the future of electric transportation.

A comprehensive eMobility solution

More than just a charging station, the Schneider Charge Pro is part of a fully integrated, turnkey solution that includes installation, hardware, software, operations and maintenance (O&M) services.

The comprehensive approach simplifies the transition to EV charging by providing seamless integration with EV Connect's charging management software, allowing for remote management and analytics across station access, pricing and performance.

Schneider Electric offers complete installation and maintenance services through its partner, Qmerit, making it easier for businesses to implement and manage their EV charging infrastructure.

Jaser Faruq, SVP of Prosumer Innovation at Schneider Electric, says: "As the world's most sustainable company with over 15 years of experience in EV charging solutions, we are uniquely positioned to lead the charge in this new energy landscape.

"Our commitment to solving critical industry challenges has led us to develop a solution encompassing everything needed to deploy customised EV infrastructure.

"With a focus on reliability and ease of use, we are confident that the Schneider Charge Pro will set a new standard in commercial EV charging."

Key features of Schneider Charge Pro

For fleet operators, multifamily property managers and commercial venue owners, the Schneider Charge Pro offers an efficient and hassle-free way to meet the growing demand for EV charging infrastructure.

Key features of this new eMobility solution include:
  • Feature-Rich Design: Built with an aluminium back enclosure for enhanced durability, plug-and-charge capability, and multiple connectivity options (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and cellular). It supports smart charging via OCPP 1.6 and ISO 15118-2 communication and comes with a 25 ft cable for easier vehicle access.
  • Faster, Easier Installation: By design, the charger's quick setup reduces installation, equipment, and labour costs. It includes a pre-configured EV Connect network management system and easy mount bracket and offers 48A or 80A debatable options with back or bottom conduit entry for simpler installation.
  • Integrated Support: Offers remote station monitoring to detect and address issues before they require service calls and 24/7 technical support for businesses and EV drivers to ensure maximum charger uptime.

Sam Abuelsamid, Principal Analyst at Guidehouse Insights outlines the benefits:

"DC fast charging is essential for long-distance trips and vehicles requiring minimal downtime.

However, AC charging is more cost-effective for site hosts and drivers and puts less strain on the electrical grid, making it the preferred solution for most EV drivers."
