U Power Launches EV Battery Swap in Peru Market
U Power, a China-based vehicle sourcing services provider aiming to become a leader in EV battery power solutions, has officially commenced commercial operations in Peru. Partnering with Treep Mobility Group S.A.C., a prominent Moto Taxi operator in the region, U Power introduces its innovative UOTTA battery-swapping technology to transform transportation in Peru. It marks a significant milestone for U Power and the local mobility industry as they embrace green and economical solutions.
Successful pilot deployment in Peru
The collaboration between U Power and Treep Mobility began with a successful pilot program in Peru. The pilot included deploying two operational battery-swapping stations, one three-wheeler and ten two-wheeler EVs.
Based on the positive results, Treep Mobility has committed to converting its fleet of traditional fuel-powered vehicles to UOTTA’s battery-swapping model. The ambitious plan is expected to generate total orders exceeding US$1m.
Treep Mobility’s endorsement
Treep Mobility has shown strong support for UOTTA’s shared battery-swapping model, citing its ability to reduce operating costs by 30-40% compared to traditional fuel-powered vehicles. By adopting this model, Treep Mobility ensures minimal downtime for its fleet, maintaining operational hours and revenue.
“This green and economical transportation solution not only reduces costs but also aligns with global environmental development trends.”
UOTTA technology: A changing the EV landscape
At the heart of U Power’s offering is its proprietary UOTTA battery-swapping technology. Designed as an intelligent and modular solution, UOTTA integrates advanced AI technology to predict customer demand, optimise charging and swapping efficiency and enhance overall operational performance.
The AI-powered cloud platform and station control system provide targeted solutions through operational data analysis, enabling seamless management of vehicles and swapping stations.
Expansion plans and vision
Since its establishment in 2013, U Power has been committed to advancing the EV ecosystem. It operates a manufacturing facility in Zibo City, Shandong Province and has developed a robust vehicle-sourcing network in China’s lower-tier cities.
With the success of its Peru pilot, U Power aims to expand its global footprint and continue its mission of delivering sustainable transportation solutions.
“The partnership with Treep Mobility highlights the versatility and efficiency of our UOTTA technology. We are excited to contribute to a greener future by offering innovative solutions that meet the needs of diverse markets.”
Environmental and economic benefits
The transition from fuel-powered to electric vehicles using UOTTA technology has significant environmental and economic implications. By adopting the battery-swapping model, Treep Mobility reduces carbon emissions and lowers maintenance and operational costs.
The partnership aligns with Peru’s commitment to sustainable development and promotes the broader adoption of EVs in the region.
U Power's entry into the Peruvian market with its UOTTA battery-swapping technology represents a pivotal step in advancing sustainable transportation solutions. The successful collaboration with Treep Mobility sets a precedent for future initiatives and demonstrates the potential of intelligent battery-swapping systems to transform the global EV landscape.
As U Power continues to innovate and expand, it reinforces its vision of becoming a comprehensive EV battery power solution provider, making green mobility accessible and efficient worldwide.
