The innovative service offers fleet and energy management solutions tailored for fleet businesses, marking a significant step forward in the transition to EVs.

Depot360: accelerating the EV transition

Depot360 aims to reduce the barriers to electrifying fleets, making it easier for businesses such as bus operators and haulage companies to adopt EVs.

By allowing these businesses to outsource the deployment and maintenance of charging infrastructure to a single supplier with no upfront cost, Depot360 provides a predictable monthly payment plan, facilitating a smoother transition to electric fleets.

End-to-end approach for fleet electrification

Siemens' end-to-end approach with Depot360 addresses the cost, resource and skills challenges associated with deploying EV charging infrastructure.

As a comprehensive service, it aims to expedite fleet operators' electrification efforts, particularly as the UK government expects the Labour government to restore the ban on petrol and diesel cars by 2030.

Siemens Depot360 CaaS

Tailor-made solutions for diverse fleet needs

By design, the Depot360 portfolio supports many fleet operators, including those managing vans, heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), logistics fleets, municipal transit and private bus depots.

The initial offerings from the Depot360 portfolio include Depot360 CaaS and Depot360 Managed Services, both part of Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform that helps organisations accelerate their digital transformation.

Tailor-made solutions
  • Siemens Depot360 CaaS - Comprehensive Support for Charging Infrastructure: Depot360 CaaS offers customers consultation and financing support for depot design, construction, commissioning, and management. The service addresses all necessary requirements through intelligent planning, including fleet size and scope, grid connection, charging infrastructure, depot and energy management software, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Siemens Depot360 Managed Services - Optimising Fleet Operations: Depot360 Managed Services optimises charging, fleet, and energy infrastructure through data-informed management and preventative maintenance. Integrating with telematics ensures that all vehicles meet the required state of charge to complete their predefined routes, minimising vehicle downtime and maximising fleet availability.
  • Advanced Energy Management with Depot360 AI: The core of Depot360 Managed Services is the energy management and optimisation platform Depot360 AI. This platform enables Siemens' 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC) to continuously monitor and manage the performance of the charging infrastructure using fleet-centric algorithms. The proactive approach allows data-driven decisions to improve fleet operations and provides complete transparency. The Managed Services solution is also a standalone offering for existing Siemens and non-Siemens charging infrastructure.

Expected industry impact

Bernard Magee, managing director for eMobility at Siemens

Bernard Magee, Managing Director for eMobility at Siemens, highlighted the significance of Depot360, stating: "Depot360 addresses the two main barriers to fleet organisations in achieving electrification: the upfront investment costs and the time and skills to project manage the installation, ongoing maintenance and optimisation of charging infrastructure and operations."

Bernard emphasised the need for a transformational, collaborative approach to business models to make electrification accessible. He notes that Charging-as-a-Service models like Depot360 will be crucial in delivering a near-universal electrified transport mix within the next decade.

With Depot360, Siemens is paving the way for a more sustainable future by making it easier for fleet businesses to transition to electric vehicles, ultimately supporting global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change.
