The plant, which began production in July 2025, will produce 2170 cylindrical lithium-ion cells with an annual capacity of 32 GWh, enough to power 500,000 EVs.
It complements Panasonicâs Nevada facility, bringing its combined North American output to 73 GWh.
The site will create 4,000 direct jobs and 8,000 indirect roles, while operating as a designated net zero facility using 100% renewable energy within a decade.
Partnerships with Redwood Materials, Novonix and Nouveau Monde Graphite strengthen its sustainable, circular supply chain.
Panasonicâs GREEN IMPACT initiative targets reducing 93 million tonnes of COâ by 2031, with the Kansas factory central to this goal.
