Modine Introduces EVantage™ Compressors and Valves for EVs
Modine’s EVantage™ components offer reliable, durable thermal management solutions, designed to meet the demanding needs of heavy-duty commercial EVs

Addressing the rigorous demands of heavy-duty EVs, Modine has announced the launch of its new line of EVantage™ Electric Compressors and Valves.

As a global leader in thermal management technology, Modine's latest products are engineered to meet the high durability and reliability required for commercial EVs, ensuring optimal thermal management for both battery cooling and air conditioning systems.

EVantage™ high voltage electric compressor

A key addition to the EVantage product family, the EVantage High Voltage (HV) Electric Compressor plays an essential role in the thermal regulation of EVs. The adaptable and intelligent compressor conditions the coolant flowing to the battery pack and manages the air for the cabin HVAC system.

Its lightweight design, built for robustness, ensures consistent performance even in the harshest conditions, maintaining electrical integrity under heavy vibrations and exposure to dust, dirt and water.

EVantage™ 3-way coolant valve

Complementing the electric compressor, the EVantage 3-Way Coolant Valve is a compact and versatile solution designed to deliver consistent coolant flow to critical components of heavy-duty EVs.

The valve features three 28mm ports that efficiently channel coolant to battery packs, power electronics, motors and other vehicle subsystems. Its all-in-one design is built to integrate seamlessly into various vehicle platforms, from off-highway machinery to buses and trucks.

Gina Maria Bonini, Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Thermal Systems at Modine

Gina Maria Bonini, Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Thermal Systems at Modine, states:

"Our new EVantage Electric Components have been purpose-built for the harsh, high-vibration environments experienced by Commercial EVs to provide high reliability and high durability operation."

"Our goal was to design a suite of products to keep Commercial EVs on the road through long days and extreme conditions."

The components are engineered to seamlessly adapt to 12V and 24V systems, offering flexibility and ease of integration into a variety of commercial EV platforms.

The compressor's proprietary mounting design eliminates orientation restrictions, enhancing its adaptability. Additionally, both the compressor and the coolant valve are IP67-rated, indicating high resistance to dust, water and corrosion, ensuring reliable operation in extreme environments.

Rigorous testing for unmatched durability

The EVantage components are validated through stringent testing standards to ensure they can withstand the most unforgiving conditions. The high voltage electric compressor is designed to endure heavy vibration and resist corrosion, safeguarding electrical integrity in harsh environments. Similarly, the 3-Way Coolant Valve, with voltage feedback for precise flow control, has been rigorously tested to ensure it thrives in challenging conditions while maintaining consistent performance.

Versatility Across Vehicle Platforms

Both the EVantage Electric Compressor and 3-Way Coolant Valve are versatile additions suitable for various vehicle platforms, including off-highway machinery, trucks and buses.

The ability to maintain efficient thermal management across different systems and environments makes them valuable assets for the commercial EV sector. By delivering reliable and durable operation, these components aim to enhance the overall efficiency and longevity of commercial electric vehicles.

With this new line of EVantage™ products, Modine continues to reinforce its commitment to advancing thermal management solutions tailored for the evolving needs of the electric vehicle market, ensuring that commercial EVs remain on the road and perform optimally even under the most challenging conditions.
