  • State-of-the-art charging hub: The site features eight ultra-rapid charging bays, delivering up to 300kW per charger.

Enhancing the EV charging experience

RAW Charging is one of the largest providers of EV charging solutions in the UK, specialising in high-traffic leisure, hospitality and retail destinations.

It offers fast and ultra-rapid charging solutions to guarantee drivers convenient and cost-effective charging experiences.

ChargePoint is Raw Charing's European partner

Through its European signature partnership with ChargePoint, which provides access to over 240,000 charging stations globally, the latest installation at Eastern Avenue Retail Park further reinforces its commitment to making EV charging simple, reliable and widely available.

A strategic investment in EV infrastructure

RAW's new charging hub at Eastern Avenue Retail Park caters to the growing demand for reliable EV charging options in East London. The retail park is home to prominent brands such as Currys, Wren Kitchens, Burger King and Costa, offering shoppers the added convenience of charging their vehicles while shopping or dining.

The surge in EV adoption in the UK highlights the importance of accessible charging infrastructure. In 2024 alone, one in three new vehicles sold in the country was electric or hybrid.

RAW Charging and Abrdn's investment in this latest charging hub supports Britain's transition toward greener mobility, ensuring that EV drivers in Romford and surrounding areas in the UK have dependable charging solutions.

London continues to lead in EV adoption and infrastructure, accounting for one-third of the nation's total charging points. The capital aims to install between 40,000 and 60,000 charge points by 2030, including 4,000 rapid chargers.

RAW Charging's new ultra-rapid hub at Eastern Avenue Retail Park aligns with this vision, serving local commuters and travellers along the busy A12 corridor.

Strengthening the RAW-abrdn partnership

The latest project represents another milestone in RAW Charging's growing collaboration with Abrdn.

The partnership has already delivered high-quality EV charging infrastructure at prime retail locations in the UK, including Brotherhood Shopping Park in Peterborough and St George's Shopping Park in Leicester.

Neil Broadbank, CCO of RAW Charging, expresses enthusiasm for the expansion: "Eastern Avenue Retail Park is a wonderful addition to RAW's large and expanding network of ultra-rapid charging stations.

"This prime retail location provides both convenience and an exceptional shopping experience, making it an ideal spot for EV drivers to recharge while they shop or enjoy a coffee during their journey. We're delighted to celebrate this launch with a week of free charging and to further solidify our partnership with Abrdn."
