Atlante, Electra, Fastned & IONITY Deliver EV Chargers
Four of Europe’s premier EV charging operators—Atlante, Electra, Fastned and IONITY—have announced a strategic partnership to form the Spark Alliance. The pioneering initiative aims to streamline the EV charging experience across the continent by creating the largest and most accessible public charging network.
Through the collaboration, the partners seek to eliminate barriers to EV adoption by providing seamless access to more than 1,700 charging stations and more than 11,000 high-quality charging points across 25 European countries.
Enhancing accessibility and convenience for EV drivers
One of the most pressing challenges in EV adoption is the complexity of charging networks. Many drivers navigate multiple apps, payment systems and pricing structures, creating an unnecessary obstacle to the widespread use of EVs.
The Spark Alliance seeks to address these concerns by integrating access to its network through a single, user-friendly experience.
Under the initiative, EV drivers will be able to locate, access and pay for charging sessions at any Spark Alliance member station using their preferred charging app. There will be no need to download additional applications or register multiple payment methods, making the process more efficient and user-friendly.
In addition, all Spark Alliance members will feature charging stations for fellow members as well as their own in their app’s route planners. This ensures that drivers can easily find the nearest, most reliable charging station, reducing range anxiety and improving the overall EV ownership experience.

Establishing the Spark Alliance is a significant milestone in the evolution of public EV charging. By setting new industry standards for interoperability, convenience and reliability, the collaboration expects to accelerate the adoption of EVs across Europe.
