Nissan’s Next-Generation EVs & Hybrids at Auto China 2024

Nissan continues to electrify the future in China, with four new NEV concept models, including two EVs & two plug-in hybrids, manufactured with Dong Feng

At Auto China 2024, Nissan presented four new energy vehicle concepts, under the theme of ‘A new Nissan for a new era in China’. The lineup of electrified models proved Nissan’s dedication to the future mobility needs of customers in China. 

The four NEV concept models included two EVs and two plug-in hybrids, manufactured with local partner Dong Feng. 

Nissan’s new EV and hybrid models

In China, drivers are embracing new lifestyles and mobility solutions that are led by intelligent, electric-driven innovations. Through this new campaign, the goal at Nissan is to support drivers to fulfil their personalised mobility dreams.

Nissan’s strategy is firmly based on the motto, “In China, for China”. There’s a focus on corporate values and competitiveness in the Chinese market.

“To achieve sustainable growth in the rapidly changing Chinese market, Nissan is committed to a China-tailored strategy as we announced in our new business plan, ‘The Arc’,” said Makoto Uchida, Chief Executive Officer and Nissan President. “Starting with new energy vehicles to be based on the concepts unveiled today, Nissan will build a balanced product portfolio of diverse and competitive new models. Our aim will be to provide a more exciting mobility experience to all customers in China.”

The Nissan Epoch Concept

The Nissan Epoch Concept has an AI-expanded Internet of Things and a virtual personal assistant, which recognises emotions.

The Nissan Epic Concept 

  • EV SUV 
  • Adventurous city couples who like to explore on the weekends

For drivers who enjoy autonomous driving in the city and on highways. This vehicle can function as a mobile power source, with electricity to power equipment, campsites or parties.

The Nissan Era Concept 

  • Plug-in hybrid SUV 
  • Young business people

This SUV comes with an interconnected entertainment system, zero-gravity seats, advanced e-4ORCE all-wheel control and active air suspension for a confident drive.

The Nissan Evo Concept 

  • Plug-in hybrid sedan 
  • Perfect for weekend getaways 

The Nissan Evo Concept also comes with an AI-enhanced virtual personal assistant, as well as advanced driver support and safety functions.

Nissan’s developing strategies in China

At Auto China 2024, Nissan presented its Formula E Gen3 race car, which represents the Nissan Formula E team’s participation in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. 

Nissan also announced that it will partner with additional businesses to advance Nissan’s intelligence system and AI-based services, to customers in China and all across the world.
