Moove and Waymo have joined forces to launch autonomous EV fleets in Phoenix by 2025, aiming to create sustainable and efficient transport solutions

In a significant move toward redefining urban mobility, Moove, a leader in innovative mobility solutions, has announced a fleet partnership with Waymo, the global pioneer in autonomous driving technology.

The collaboration marks the first commercial partnership integrated into the Waymo One app.

A groundbreaking partnership

Moove will manage and dispatch Waymo's fully autonomous, all-electric fleet, starting in Phoenix in 2025 and expanding to Miami in 2026. Responsibilities include fleet operations, facilities, and charging infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Waymo will focus on validating and operating its autonomous driving technology, the Waymo Driver, while continuing to offer services through the Waymo One app.

Ryan McNamara, Vice President of Operations at Waymo

Ryan McNamara, Vice President of Operations at Waymo, highlights the significance of the partnership, stating: "We are excited to partner with Moove in Phoenix and later Miami, bringing together their mobility-focused fleet management experience with our growing Waymo One service.

Together, we will provide safe, seamless trips for riders and scale faster and more cost-effectively over time, with safety continuing to lead the way."

Expanding mobility solutions

While entering the autonomous vehicle (AV) market, Moove remains committed to its existing customers.

Through its flagship Drive-to-Own (DTO) product, Moove provides underserved mobility entrepreneurs access to vehicle ownership, democratising opportunities in emerging markets.

Ladi Delano, Co-Founder and co-CEO of Moove

Ladi Delano, Co-Founder and Co-CEO at Moove, states: "Ride-hailing has transformed urban mobility over the past 15 years, yet the core experience has largely remained unchanged.

Waymo's safe, reliable, and convenient Waymo One service leads in autonomous technology and, together, we're driving a major shift in urban mobility. While expanding into AVs in the US, we remain deeply committed to providing our financing solutions to underserved mobility entrepreneurs worldwide."

Transforming urban transportation

Autonomous vehicles are hailed as the future of urban mobility, addressing critical challenges like safety, congestion and environmental sustainability.

According to the World Health Organization, shared AV solutions could significantly reduce road traffic accidents, which claim approximately 1.19 million lives annually.

By leveraging Moove’s expertise in fleet management, Waymo can focus on advancing its cutting-edge autonomous technology and ensuring a safe and sustainable rider experience.
