Polestar 3 sets benchmark with 438-mile EV range
Polestar's flagship SUV now offers a certified WLTP range of 438 miles, combining luxury, performance & sustainability in a class-leading electric package

Polestar has achieved a significant milestone with the official WLTP range certification for the long-range single-motor variant of its flagship SUV, the Polestar 3. With a certified range of up to 438 miles (WLTP), this electric SUV now claims the longest range in its class. Starting at US$89,200, the Polestar 3 combines cutting-edge technology, luxury features and sustainable design, cementing its position as a leader in the EV market.

The Polestar mission: Redefining electric performance

Polestar, a Swedish electric performance car brand with headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, is committed to advancing sustainable mobility through innovative design and technology.

Available in 27 markets across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, the company plans to expand further by 2025.

Polestar's current lineup includes three models:
  • Polestar 2: An electric performance fastback.
  • Polestar 3: A full-size SUV tailored for the electric age.
  • Polestar 4: An SUV coupé reimagined.

Polestar aims to introduce five performance EVs by 2026, including the Polestar 5, an electric four-door GT and the Polestar 6, an electric roadster. The brand's commitment to sustainability is exemplified by the Polestar 0 project, which targets the creation of a climate-neutral production car by 2030, rallying the automotive industry toward a zero-emission future.

A new standard for range and charging

The entry-level Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor variant shares the 111 kWh battery pack in the dual-motor version.

The battery offers a peak charging capability of 250 kW, enabling a fast 10-80% charge in just 30 minutes via DC charging.

Matt Galvin, Managing Director of Polestar

Matt Galvin, Managing Director of Polestar, stated, "Range anxiety is officially a thing of the past, with all our performance EVs offering over 300 miles (WLTP)."

"This new variant of Polestar 3 not only delivers a class-leading range but offers all the luxury features and comfort our customers have come to expect from the brand, combined with the added convenience of fast charging. We look forward to commencing test drives in the new year."

Customisation options and luxury features

The Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor variant comes with a range of personalisation options:

  • Exterior Colors: Six choices.
  • Interior Designs: Five premium options.
  • Wheel Options: Four designs, including the new 21-inch alloy wheel in the Pro Pack.

Additional features include the Bowers & Wilkins 25-speaker audio system with Dolby Atmos, Bridge of Weir animal welfare-secured Nappa leather and 1.3-megapixel LED headlights, available across all Polestar 3 variants.

Performance-driven engineering

True to its performance heritage, the Long Range Single Motor retains the dynamic ride quality of the dual-motor version. Its sophisticated passive damper system, featuring Hydraulic Rebound Stops (HRS) and Frequency Selective Damping (FSD), ensures a balance of comfort and control.

The rear axle is exclusively powered by a single motor producing 220 kW and 490 Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 7.8 seconds. The braking system, the same as the rest of the Polestar 3 range, uses Brembo brakes for reliable stopping power.

Setting a new benchmark

With its class-leading range, advanced technology and commitment to sustainability, the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor is redefining what's possible in the luxury electric SUV market. As Polestar continues to expand its lineup and market reach, the brand is poised to shape the future of sustainable performance vehicles.
