Hesai Technology, operating in lidar solutions, has announced a landmark partnership with Changan Automobile.

The deal establishes Hesai as the exclusive supplier of long-range automotive lidar for Changan's new intelligent driving platform. Over the next few years, Hesai aims to deliver more than 1.5 million units of its innovative ATX compact lidar, showcasing a significant leap in lidar deployment across the automotive sector.

Enhancing intelligent driving across Changan brands

Under the agreement, Hesai will supply lidar units for more than 10 vehicle models spanning multiple Changan Automobile brands.

The first model built on the advanced platform is expected to begin mass production in the second half of 2025.

The collaboration builds on the companies' strategic relationship initiated in 2022, which saw the successful launch of the Changan Nevo E07 in October 2024.

Equipped with two Hesai AT128 lidar units, the Nevo E07 has been widely praised for its advanced capabilities and market reception.

Hesai's ATX lidar model, introduced in April 2024, has quickly become a catalyst in the lidar market. The device combines compactness with ultra-high resolution, offering enhanced point cloud resolution while reducing size, weight and power consumption.
