Voltpost’s innovative approach to accessible EV charging

Voltpost is pioneering a unique approach to EV infrastructure by transforming existing lampposts into scalable EV charging units.

This retrofitting strategy allows cities to deploy EV charging stations rapidly and with minimal cost, using infrastructure already available in urban areas.

The modular solution allows for curbside and parking-lot charging, making EV charging accessible to more people in more places.

Voltpost’s solution is precious for cities, universities, real estate developers and parking operators seeking to provide convenient EV charging options for their customers and communities.

By converting existing lampposts, Voltpost minimises the costs and environmental impact of traditional charging stations, allowing cities to expand EV infrastructure efficiently.

Bringing IoT connectivity to EV charging infrastructure

The addition of AT&T’s IoT connectivity technology to Voltpost’s charging units enhances the reliability of these stations, helping ensure a positive user experience.

With IoT connectivity, AT&T will help keep charging posts online and operational, making it easier for drivers to rely on the availability of charging stations whenever they need them.

The collaboration supports both companies' vision to provide communities with dependable and accessible charging infrastructure.

Joe Mosele, Vice President of AT&T Connected Solutions

Joe Mosele, Vice President of AT&T Connected Solutions, highlights the significance of the partnership, stating: “We are dedicated to fostering innovation and supporting emerging tech that will shape the transportation sector.

"As cities move toward a more sustainable future, enabling cities to scale their charging networks with existing infrastructure and advanced connectivity is a game-changer.

“We look forward to continuing our work with Voltpost and supporting groundbreaking initiatives that propel the industry forward.”

Connected mobility leadership event

AT&T and Voltpost recently co-hosted a Connected Mobility Leadership event to celebrate this partnership.

The event brought together key stakeholders in the EV infrastructure space, including public and private sector representatives, as well as leaders from AT&T Connected Solutions and Voltpost, to discuss the future of connected mobility.

Voltpost’s upcoming charging station deployments across Michigan, New York and Illinois align closely with AT&T’s ambitious sustainability goals.

As part of AT&T’s “gigaton goal”—to help business customers reduce one billion metric tons of CO2 by 2035—the partnership illustrates AT&T’s commitment to providing connectivity solutions, such as fibre, 5G and IoT, that support a greener world.

Jeffrey Prosserman, CEO and Co-Founder of Voltpost

Jeffrey Prosserman, CEO and Co-Founder of Voltpost expresses enthusiasm for the collaboration: “Expanding access to EV charging is key to democratising electric mobility and advancing the transition to renewable energy.

“Our collaboration with AT&T enables us to deploy highly connected and convenient EV infrastructure that equips communities with much-needed charging access.”
