Job To Toyota Motor Europe (TME) – Vice President Manufacturing

Richard Kenworthy's appointment as Vice President of Manufacturing at Toyota Motor Europe (TME) in July 2024 marks a significant milestone in his 33-year career with the company. His journey with Toyota began in 1991 at the Deeside engine plant in North Wales, part of Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK).

Richard has held various positions throughout his tenure, showcasing his versatility and deep understanding of Toyota's operations. Key roles include Plant Director at Deeside in 2012, Director of Vehicle Production Engineering at TME in 2014 and Vice President of Production Control for TME in 2019. In 2021, he was appointed Managing Director of TMUK, overseeing both the Burnaston vehicle manufacturing plant and the Deeside engine plant.

As Vice President of Manufacturing, Richard will be responsible for crucial functions, including TME's Supply Chain, Production Engineering, Strategy and Business Planning divisions. His leadership is expected to be instrumental in advancing Toyota's goals for efficiency, innovation and sustainability across its European operations.

Richard's background combines technical expertise with a passion for challenge. A graduate of Loughborough University and originally from Ormskirk, Lancashire, he enjoys mountain sports such as mountaineering, running and cycling. These pursuits reflect qualities that have undoubtedly contributed to his successful career trajectory at Toyota.

His appointment highlights Toyota's commitment to nurturing long-term talent and promoting from within. As he steps into this pivotal role, he brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of Toyota's culture and operations, positioning him well to drive the company's European manufacturing strategy forward in an era of rapid technological change and increasing focus on sustainability.
