OMODA debuts with stylish, advanced and affordable EVs with the OMODA E5 crossover SUV, now available for pre-reservation in the UK

OMODA has emerged as a new car brand. Introduced by Chery, a leading Chinese automaker in this competitive environment, OMODA by design caters to the growing demand for innovative and affordable electric mobility solutions.

The brand focuses on delivering stylish, technologically advanced and cost-effective EVs that appeal to a wide range of consumers. With its emphasis on cutting-edge design and smart features, OMODA represents a significant addition to the global EV market, intensifying competition and driving further innovation across the industry with reservations in the UK opening for the electric OMODA E5 crossover SUV.

Features and aesthetics

The all-electric OMODA E5 is powered by a 150 kW (204 bhp) electric motor and a 61 kWh 'blade' battery.

It offers a WLTP range of 257 miles with optimised aerodynamics and class-leading noise reduction. The electric crossover SUV can charge up to 80kW, allowing a 30% to 80% top-up in just 28 minutes.

Both OMODA E5 models have earned a five-star EuroNCAP safety rating and have a standard seven-year/100,000-mile manufacturer's warranty.

Expansion of UK dealer and supply chain network

The initial UK rollout of OMODA and its sister brand JAECOO will be supported by more than 70 jointly branded and franchised dealer sites, which are set to increase to 100 by the end of the year.

Some of the UK's largest dealer groups, including Allen Motor Group, Arnold Clark, Cambria, Chapelhouse, Endeavour, Greenhous, Hartwell, Listers, Perrys, Peter Vardy and Vospers back the expansion.

Customers will benefit from the scale and expertise of experienced sales and aftersales teams nationwide.

OMODA benefits from being owned by Chery International, China's number-one vehicle exporter, for more than 20 years. Chery's vast experience setting up robust networks in new markets globally is a significant advantage.

The company has enlisted international logistics provider DHL to manage parts supply and logistics operations in the UK, ensuring customers experience hassle-free service and repair with parts deliveries in as little as 24 hours.

Furthermore, Chery has partnered with Thatcham Research to ensure UK parts, aftersales and vehicle repair provisions for OMODA and JAECOO.

By working closely with Thatcham and establishing a parts supply operation with DHL before launch, OMODA and JAECOO vehicles will arrive on UK shores with comprehensive support packages. Additionally, all future models will be joint development with guidance from Thatcham Research on a global R&D level.

Innovative partnerships and future prospects

In an industry first, OMODA has signed an agreement with UK-based Octopus Energy Group to provide its EV drivers with full access to tariffs, home charging installations, a charging roaming service, and leasing solutions.

Victor Zhang, Executive Vice President of OMODA and JAECOO UK, said: "The opening of UK reservations for our two debut OMODA models is a significant moment for us and I look forward to our retail partners presenting these distinctive and competitive crossover SUVs to customers very soon.

"We've been working hard to ensure our new line-up is fully backed by a comprehensive retailer and supply chain network. Customer trust is paramount, especially for a new brand entering the UK market. I'm confident our customers will benefit from an exemplary ownership experience."
