Mercedes-Benz EVs on ride-hailing apps thanks to WeFlex

Passengers look for the luxury experience that Mercedes-Benz offers, & drivers want corporate customers — & higher fares, says Nicko Williamson, WeFlex CEO

WeFlex, the vehicle finance and rental company for ride-hailing drivers that focuses on EVs, now has a fleet in excess of 2,000 cars across a number of brands, with the largest range of quality electric vehicles in the ride-hailing industry.

It provides flexible finance plans to help ride-hailing drivers successfully run their business and own their vehicle, in a way that works for their individual circumstances.

The leading electric vehicle provider WeFlex has joined forces with Sytner Mercedes-Benz London Corporate Sales to meet growing demand from ride-hailing drivers for luxury electric vehicles in London.

“Mercedes-Benz needs little introduction when it comes to associations with quality design and engineering,” says Nicko Williamson, Founder and CEO of WeFlex.

“Ride-Hailing passengers are increasingly looking for a more luxury experience and drivers want to be able to attract corporate customers — and higher fares. Mercedes-Benz are experts in luxury vehicles — and Sytner has been a brilliant partner in helping get these beautiful electric vehicles onto London’s roads.”

Williamson founded WeFlex in 2015, having previously founded Climatecars, which sold to Addison Lee in 2015, and Bounce. He volunteers as a mentor at Plan B Mentoring, a charity that aims to provide women who want to be considered for senior leadership and board level roles with outstanding mentoring, advice and motivation from objective mentors to help them achieve it.

Mercedes-Benz EVs meet London’s demand for sustainable luxury

The Mercedes-Benz EQA SUV and EQE Saloon offer sophisticated, comfortable cabins and eye-catching exterior design, delivering a more business class travel experience for ride-hailing customers.

With up to 324 miles and 380 miles of range respectively, and increasingly sophisticated charging infrastructure, charging isn’t a concern for the London transport option.

It is beneficial for drivers as well as passengers — the addition of the vehicles empowers ride-hailing drivers to compete for better fares and a corporate executive customer base through apps such as Wheely, Blacklane, Uber and Bolt.

“We are seeing growing demand from across the spectrum and particularly within Ride-Hailing for higher-end vehicles,” comments Stephen Hanifan, Corporate Sales Director from Sytner Mercedes-Benz London. Hanifan has sold Mercedes-Benz vehicles for over three decades, starting as a Sales Executive in 1992, and moving quickly into management, fleet sales and corporate sales. London born and bred, he understands the market and the clients, and was awarded with Corporate Sales Manager of the Year in 2008, followed by Corporate Sales Team of the Year in 2009.

“When you spend your entire working day driving for a living, you can see why the additional comfort, technology and range of the EQA and EQE is highly appealing for drivers — and for their passengers — looking to travel around London in style.”
