As more EVs come to market, drivers continue to choose ChargePoint, propelling us over one million quarterly users, says Pasquale Romano, ChargePoint CEO

ChargePoint is creating a new fueling network to move people and goods on electricity.

Founded in 2007, ChargePoint is committed to easing the transition to electric vehicles for businesses and drivers.

It has built one of the largest EV charging networks and a comprehensive portfolio of charging solutions — one ChargePoint account provides access to hundreds-of-thousands of places to charge in North America and Europe.

The company’s cloud subscription platform and software-defined charging hardware are designed to include options for every charging scenario from home and multifamily to workplace, parking, hospitality, retail and transport fleets of all types.

“As more EVs come to market, their drivers continue to choose ChargePoint as their network of choice, propelling us over the one million quarterly global active user mark,” says Pasquale Romano, CEO of ChargePoint.

Romano has over 30 years of technology industry leadership and executive management experience, built on the foundation of his undergraduate degree in computer science from Harvard University and MS from MIT.

He has been ChargePoint’s CEO since 2011, having previously co-founded 2Wire which was acquired by Pace plc for US$475m in 2010 and co-founded Fluent, Inc., a digital video networking company where he served as Chief Architect until it was sold to Novell Corporation in 1993.

He is currently a board member for Levitate Acquisition Corporation.

User-friendly technology boosts EV charging users

The leading provider of networked charging solutions for EVs now has over one million quarterly active drivers who use the ChargePoint app to find, use and pay for the fueling of their electric vehicle at over 585,000 charging ports across Europe.

In celebration of the milestone, ChargePoint has released an updated version of its mobile app, to further simplify the user experience for drivers to seamlessly charge their vehicle wherever they need.

The app updates rest upon three key pillars:

  1. Modern, intuitive design, including improved tabs and filters that enable simpler app navigation, while helping drivers find what they need.
  2. Improved station discovery and use, delivering a better experience when you start a charge remotely, and clear station identification so you always use the right parking spot.
  3. Answers at your fingertips, with an expanded FAQ that has everything you need to know for charging your EV at home and on the road.

“ChargePoint remains focused on delivering the best driver experience available, so the redesign of our mobile app joins our enhanced reliability initiatives to ensure drivers can find, use and pay for charging in the most convenient way possible,” Romano concludes.
