Top 10: Sustainability Awards 2024
As the world increases its focus on electric vehicle sustainability and wider environmental responsibility, a number of prestigious awards ceremonies take the time, each year, to celebrate those who are leading the charge.
Here are our Top 10 sustainability awards.
10. The Altair Enlighten Award
6th August 2024
Altair is a global leader in computational science and intelligence, which offers software and cloud solutions for high-performance computing and AI. Altair supports organisations who are working to create a more sustainable future.
The annual Enlighten Award is presented with the Center for Automotive Research. The 2024 Enlighten Award has a new category, “Sustainable Computing” which is sponsored by Google Cloud.
9. Cleantech Open Global Ideas
November 2024
Industry Disruptors – Game Changers (ID-GC) is a non-profit that wants to become a regional catalyst for sustainable entrepreneurship.
The Cleantech Open Global Ideas competition seeks to find this year’s breakthrough cleantech ideas in industry categories such as; air, water and waste, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green building, smart power and transportation.
The winning team will progress to the Global Finals, which takes place in San Francisco during the Cleantech Open Global Forum in November.
8. The Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards
14th November
The Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards are designed to draw attention to the innovation and excellence in the emerging EV sector.
Hosts EverythingEV believe that innovation and collaboration will be ‘essential’ to making roads smarter and safer, and air cleaner.
Electric Vehicle Awards judges include executives from Association for Renewable Energy and Clean Technologies, BloombergNEF, CENEX, ChargeSafe and Current±.
7. World Car Awards
February - April 2024
Now in its 20th year, the World Car Awards and its jurors want to recognise, reward and inspire automotive excellence, leadership and innovation in the automotive industry.
Awards categories include: World Car Design, World Luxury Car, World Performance Car, World Urban Car, World Electric Vehicle and World Car of the Year.
The awards aim to complement, not compete with, similar programmes.

6. Global Good Awards
3rd May 2024
Founded in 2015, the Global Good Awards reward businesses, NGOs, charities and social enterprises for their purpose-driven sustainability and strong ethical leadership. They celebrate leaders who seek to implement ‘practical, scalable and replicable’ sustainability changes.
In 2018, GGA was the first scheme in the world to be accredited as ‘Outstanding’ by the Awards Trust Mark and has been accredited every year since.
5. Sustainable Future Awards
14th June 2024
A sustainable future is one where both goods and services are produced in ways that do not use irreplaceable resources and which do not damage the planet. The Sustainable Future Awards seeks out examples of innovative thinking and excellence in management which work towards such goals.
There are 29 categories, which come under four pillars:
- Recycling Excellence and Innovation
- Energy Excellence and Innovation
- Circular Economy Innovation
- Overall Achievement.
Celebrate the nominees as well as the winners at the awards in June.
4. The Energy Globe Award
29th February 2024
The Energy Globe was first awarded in 2000. Two and half decades later, it’s still going strong. Small and large projects can be submitted, from any company, organisation, individual or public authority that supports the fight against climate change and other environmental issues. There are several awards categories: Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth.
The aim of the Energy Globe Award is to create awareness and show that everyone can make a positive contribution.
3. The Green World Awards
October 2024
The International Green Apple Environment Awards were established in 1994 and have become a way for organisations to secure environmental recognition. Entries from local, regional and national governments around the world are all welcome. At the 2023 Green World Awards in Miami, Brazil’s GRUPO AMBIPAR won the Champion of Champions title. As the winning group, the 2024 awards will now be presented in Brazil, at zero cost to them.
2. SEAL Awards
23rd April
The SEAL (Sustainability, Environmental Achievement & Leadership) Awards is an awards-driven environmental advocacy organisation.
The SEAL Awards organisational pillars are:
- Business Sustainability Awards
- Environmental Journalism Awards
- Impact Campaigns
- Environmental Research Grants
“Granularity was the theme of the 2023 sustainability awards. Across all industries and geographies, companies are going deep and granular – into materials, chemistry, processes, R&D, and more – to generate sustainability improvements,” commented Matt Harney, Chairperson and Founder of SEAL Awards. “Corporate ESG leadership – like our 2023 honorees have demonstrated – is absolutely needed to address our climate crisis.”
1. The Global Sustainability & ESG Awards
September 2024
Coming to Sustainability LIVE London in September 2024, the Global Sustainability & ESG Awards will host corporate leaders and recognise those with extensive commitment to the planet and its people. Leveraging strategic initiatives and economic components, the award winners of the following categories will have shared great achievement in sustainability, environmental; social and governance (ESG), responsible finance, and supply chain initiatives.
The Awards categories are open to submissions from all types of businesses and offer a range of team and individual awards to recognise those that champion sustainability for their organisation, and their industry.
Four of the award categories include:
- Sustainability Strategy Award - Recognising outstanding businesses that lead the way in sustainable practices and steer other organisations towards a more environmentally responsible future.
- ESG Programme Award - Honouring exceptional organisations that integrate ESG principles into their core values and activities.
- Sustainable Finance Award - Acknowledging firms that promote sustainable finance, incorporate ESG principles, and are transforming the investment landscape.
- Sustainable Supply Chain Award - Recognising companies that implement sustainability initiatives in their supply chains.
