Stellantis and Ayvens join forces to recondition rental vehicles
Stellantis and Ayvens join forces to recondition rental vehicles to promote a circular economy, extend vehicle life cycles and reduce environmental impact

Stellantis and Ayvens, a leading brand in sustainable mobility born from ALD Automotive and LeasePlan, have announced a strategic partnership to recondition vehicles returning at the end of their rental period for future reuse. The initiative aims to extend vehicle life cycles, reduce waste and promote an efficient circular economy within the automotive sector.

Through the agreement, Stellantis vehicles rented by Ayvens will undergo reconditioning at the Circular Economy Hub in Mirafiori, Turin in Italy. The dedicated facility, covering 5,000 square meters, will now accommodate Ayvens' vehicles, processing an initial volume of over 1,000 vehicles per year.

Reconditioning for quality and longevity

Used vehicles intended for re-rental will first undergo comprehensive inspections before receiving necessary mechanical and bodywork refurbishments. This meticulous process ensures that vehicles meet high-quality standards before returning to the rental market.

Customers opting for the used car rental solution will benefit from periodic maintenance checks conducted at Stellantis Group-authorised workshops, ensuring continued reliability.

Commitment to a circular economy

The partnership highlights Stellantis and Ayvens's shared commitment to fostering a sustainable business model through circular economy principles.

By extending the usability of vehicle components and reducing dependence on new raw materials, the initiative aligns with industry-wide sustainability goals while making mobility solutions more affordable.

Antonio Stanisci, Commercial Director of Ayvens Italia

Antonio Stanisci, Commercial Director of Ayvens Italia, emphasised the importance of the initiative:

"This partnership with Stellantis represents another step in developing our business model, which is focused on managing vehicles from the first rental cycle. It is exclusive to a rental operator like Ayvens and we are confident that this collaboration will benefit both parties and the sector.

"Our goal is to extend the life cycle of vehicles and promote their reuse. For some years now, we have launched the used vehicle re-rental service, using a careful selection process focused on quality and efficiency, with a pricing strategy aimed at customers looking for this type of solution. Not to mention that all this also represents a virtuous process and therefore, a real engine for the circular economy."

A step towards decarbonisation

The partnership reinforces Stellantis' commitment to sustainability and the circular economy. It aims to be a strong player in decarbonisation through its REMAN, REUSE, REPAIR and RECYCLE product offerings, which allow customers to minimise their environmental impact while maintaining high-quality standards.

Francesco Monaco, SUSTAINera Director Europe at Stellantis

Francesco Monaco, SUSTAINera Director Europe at Stellantis, highlighted the significance of the collaboration:

"This partnership represents confirmation of Stellantis' commitment to be a strong player in the circular economy and to contribute to decarbonisation in line with the Group's strategy.

"Today our offer of REMAN, REUSE, REPAIR and RECYCLE products allows the user to contribute to limiting the exploitation of natural resources and, at the same time, to enjoy the high quality-price ratio, as all SUSTAINera spare parts come from standardised production processes guaranteed by the manufacturer.

"I am proud of the trust that Ayvens places in our services and this represents a strong incentive to propose Stellantis Sustainera as a reference in the automotive reconditioning sector, giving a new life to used cars, back on the road in the best conditions."
