Electric vehicles take centre stage at EV Magazine LIVE

The number of electric vehicles in the road is increasing, but also on screen, which fits the live show theme as EV Magazine launches its inaugural event

In light of the growing interest in electric vehicles, we’re excited to highlight some of the most popular EVs in the movie business.

While we’re often faced with the idea that EVs feature movie-like technology capabilities, and the only function they lack is the ability to fly, it seems they have already featured extensively in some movies. Some would say this cements their position in the present society and marks a change that will feature in the history books.

From the latest Batmobile to Barbie’s Corvette in the upcoming movie release, electrification has made its way in the movie business.

Not only is Tesla the most featured in real life, it also shows up in some films, as the Model S appeared in The Kingsman and Fifty Shades of Grey in 2015, and even Entourage in 2006. The car tends to feature subtly in any films or series, but nevertheless, they are there.

A historical EV seen on screen

Another of the most iconic EVs is the Nissan Leaf—the first mass-production EV to remain on the road today. Some of the films in which it has featured include Parental Guidance in 2012, Stuber in 2019, and The Babysitter: Killer Queen in 2020.

Tesla, Nissan, and Renault are some of the most featured cars in films overall with many of them over the past decade. Other car manufacturers’ models are seen in films, including Audi, BMW’s iX3, Hyundia’s Ioniq and Ioniq 5, and the Smart FourTwo.

EV’s in the spotlight at EV Magazine LIVE

While EV Magazine in no way claims to be hosting in Hollywood, we are proud to showcase EVs and industry insights from leaders in electrification.

At the London Transport Museum on the 2nd February 2023, EV Magazine will stream live to a global audience from the iconic venue to feature great minds changing the way we approach EV adoption.

Alex Gilbert, Head of Energy & Electrification; Commercial Development at Transport for London, will be joining us to talk about the shift in public transport and how commuters travel around the international capital of the UK. Alongside Gilbert is Sara Sloman, Chief Strategy Officer at Paythru, uncovering the effects that financial services have on achieving smarter mobility.

When it comes to charging and infrastructure, Sam Clarke, Chief Vehicle Officer at GRIDSERVE Sustainable Energy Limited, evangelises the company’s forecourt innovations and Electric Highway strategy.

Rodi Basso, CEO of E1 Series, talks sustainability through motorsport and the next generation that is electric boat racing.

The Co-Founder and CEO of the ultra-premium AEHRA SUV, Hazim Nada will also be in attendance to discuss the company’s journey to leverage Italian engineering for sustainable, electrified vehicles.

Finally, in the spotlight, two cars will be featured at the first ever EV Magazine LIVE. The AEHRA SUV will be featured at the event, which is breaking the boundaries of ICE motoring.
