About CAM and the AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Awards

The Center of Automotive Management, led by Professor Stefan Bratzel, has been collating product innovations from global automotive companies and evaluating them based on quantitative and qualitative criteria since 2005.

The winners of the AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Awards are determined from the annual AutomotiveINNOVATIONS Report, which is based on CAM's innovation database.

For 2023/24, CAM analysed innovations from 30 global vehicle manufacturers and newcomers, covering around 100 automotive brands. A total of 709 individual OEM innovations available in series production in the technology fields of Electric Drive, Autonomous Driving and ADAS, and Infotainment and connectivity were evaluated.

These include nearly 200 highly rated world firsts. The scientific evaluation included criteria such as maturity level, originality, customer benefit, and degree of innovation.

Additionally, around 300 pre-series innovations or concept vehicles were considered, indicating future development trends of vehicle manufacturers.

Volkswagen's recognition by CAM underscores its leading role in electric vehicle innovation and its commitment to advancing electric mobility on a broad scale.

The innovations in Volkswagen's electric drive technology, consumption optimisation, charging capabilities, and the electric ecosystem demonstrate the brand's dedication to providing superior products and enhancing the customer experience in the electric vehicle market.
