Good Energy Group, a leading UK-based renewable energy supplier and energy services provider has introduced a new fixed tariff to support electric vehicle (EV) drivers in charging their vehicles both at home and on the go. The initiative aligns with Good Energy's mission to combat climate change by providing 100% renewable electricity and fostering sustainable energy practices.

Founded in 1999, Good Energy has been at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution. The company supplies electricity from a mix of solar, wind, hydro, and biogas sources, ensuring that all its energy offerings are entirely renewable.

Alongside electricity, Good Energy offers carbon-neutral gas, promotes energy efficiency, and supports customers in generating renewable power through solar panels.

The commitment by other parties to sustainability and ethical practices is evident in their efforts to transform the energy market, reduce carbon emissions, and foster a greener future.

New Smart EV Fixed Tariff

The new tariff, the Good Energy Smart EV Fixed (July 25), was launched on July 1. It offers a market-leading rate of just 7.4p per kWh for overnight charging during a five-hour window from 12 am to 5 am. It means that EV drivers can charge their vehicles with 100% renewable electricity at home at a highly competitive rate. For example, a standard-range Tesla Model Y can be charged from empty to 100% for as little as £4.50. The tariff will be available until July 31, 2025, providing a long-term, cost-effective solution for EV drivers.

In addition to the competitive rate, the tariff includes a free premium subscription to Zapmap, a comprehensive digital platform dedicated to EV drivers in the UK.

Zapmap helps users search, plan, and pay for public charging, enhancing the overall EV charging experience.

He stated, "As a major investor in the UK's go-to EV charging app, a supplier of truly renewable electricity, and an EV charger installer, Good Energy is uniquely positioned to help EV drivers.”

“By design, the new tariff and the excellent additional features from Zapmap make it as cost-effective and straightforward as possible to drive an electric vehicle. We have gone the extra mile to provide customers with a competitive rate for truly renewable electricity, sourced from our community of over 2,500 generators, as well as a real added benefit to help with charging on the go in Zapmap Premium."

Zapmap App

Launched in 2014, Zapmapis the UK's leading EV charging app. It provides an interactive map showing the locations, availability, and details of EV charging points across the country. With over a million downloads, Zapmap tracks more than 60,000 charge points, with over 70% providing live data on costs and availability.

The platform supports the transition to electric mobility by offering crucial information and enhancing the charging experience with features like route planning and payment integration.

Good Energy is a long-term partner and the largest investor in Zapmap, underscoring its commitment to supporting the EV community. A survey by Zapmap found that EV drivers are more likely to have solar panels, heat pumps, and batteries installed—all installation services offered by Good Energy.

Melanie Shufflebotham, Co-founder and COO of Zapmap

"Zapmap aims to make it easy to search, plan, and pay for EV charging when drivers are on the go. So it's great to be working with our long-term partners in Good Energy to package that service with a tariff that helps them charge economically at home too."  Melanie Shufflebotham, Co-founder and COO of Zapmap highlighting the synergy between Zapmap and Good Energy.

With the launch of the Good Energy Smart EV Fixed tariff, Good Energy continues to lead the way in renewable energy innovation and support for EV drivers. By providing affordable, renewable electricity for home charging and enhancing public charging experiences through Zapmap, Good Energy is making significant strides towards a sustainable and green future for all.
