XCharge Expands EV Charging Infrastructure in Canada

XCharge North America, a provider of high-power EV charging and battery-integrated solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Hypercharge Networks Corp. to bring its GridLink chargers to Canada.
The collaboration marks a significant step in expanding EV charging infrastructure nationwide.
The partnership
Hypercharge Networks is a leading provider of EV charging solutions for residential and commercial buildings, fleet operations and other expanding sectors.
With a mission to accelerate EV adoption and support a carbon-neutral economy, Hypercharge offers cutting-edge hardware, innovative software and comprehensive services, backed by a robust public and private charging network.
Founded in 2015, XCharge is a global leader in integrated EV charging solutions. The company develops advanced DC fast chargers and battery-integrated charging systems, leveraging proprietary energy storage and management technologies.
XCharge is dedicated to driving the transition to a global green future through innovative and efficient EV charging solutions.
Expanding EV Charging in British Columbia and Ontario
Under the partnership, XCharge NA will supply its GridLink chargers to Hypercharge, distributing them to automotive dealerships and customers throughout British Columbia and Ontario. While Hypercharge will oversee software management and customer support, XCharge NA will handle preventive hardware maintenance under the unit warranty.
Additionally, Hypercharge’s team will undergo training and certification to manage corrective hardware maintenance, ensuring long-term operational efficiency.
Chris Koch, Head of Growth & Partnerships at Hypercharge, highlights the importance of this collaboration: “GridLink’s bidirectional, battery-integrated system offers businesses a smarter way to fast EV charging success, eliminating demand charges and avoiding costly grid upgrades.
By introducing this solution alongside Hypercharge’s innovative network solutions and 24/7 customer support, we’re helping our customers improve charging accessibility while supporting energy infrastructure across Canada.”
Addressing infrastructure gaps with advanced technology
Despite rising demand for EVs in Canada, many regions still lack the necessary power infrastructure to support rapid EV charging.
By design, GridLink by XCharge NA bridges the gap by offering a flexible and scalable solution. The system ensures optimal performance across various deployment scenarios with a base capacity of 215 kilowatt-hours, expandable to 430 kilowatt-hours.
- Advanced bidirectional charging technology enables power to flow back into the grid or act as an off-grid energy source, enhancing grid stability.
- Seamless grid integration supports direct connectivity with renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaics.
- GridLink strengthens the transition to sustainable transportation while reinforcing regional energy infrastructure.
Redefining energy interaction
XCharge NA’s commitment to transforming energy use is central to its mission.
Aatish Patel, Co-Founder and President of XCharge NA, celebrates the impact of the partnership: “Redefining energy interaction is at the heart of what we do—from changing how people think about energy to opening up new revenue streams for small and large businesses in the process. Our partnership with Hypercharge is a significant step in furthering that mission.
"We look forward to seeing how our GridLinks can help strengthen Canada’s grid stability, particularly in rural deployments while addressing the region’s growing demand for EVs and supporting electric transportation needs.”
