How Much Range Does CUPRA’s Raval Urban EV Have?

CUPRA has announced a new EV, the Raval, offering consumers 5 seats and 276 miles of range.
The car is just four metres long, positioned in the compact range and marketed as an urban vehicle.
CUPRA is a subsidiary of SEAT, which is owned by the Volkswagen Group.
This launch comes as some Volkswagen Group brands are reassessing electrification strategy.
The Raval
With charging time from 24 minutes and 105 kW of power, the Raval offers a range of up to 276 miles and 0 to 60 in 6.8 seconds.
It is based on Volkswagen’s MEB+ (modular electric drive kit) platform and features front-wheel drive.
The vehicle’s length is 4,046 mm, its width is 1,784 mm and its height is 1,514 mm. In a statement, CUPRA said: “The CUPRA Raval disrupts its category by providing the agility and performance of a hatchback with the space and versatility of cars from larger segments.”
In a post on LinkedIn, Arnaud Hacault, Global Head of Product Communications of SEAT and CUPRA, wrote: “The CUPRA Raval has been in the making for years. I still remember when it was just the UrbanRebel showcar back in 2022.
“Today, it’s real. Proud. Excited. And honestly, a bit emotional seeing it finally out in the world. More than a car. Pure CUPRA attitude in its boldest form.”
Developed and produced in Europe
The CUPRA Raval will launch in Summer 2026 with a starting price for the entry-level model of roughly €26,000 (US$30,424). The car is designed, developed and produced in Barcelona, Spain.
Markus Haupt, CEO of CUPRA and SEAT, said in 2025: “The CUPRA Raval embodies everything that CUPRA stands for, from driver-first emotion to bold design and outstanding performance. It’s a car that is set to shape the next era of electric mobility, making EVs accessible to a new generation.
“Designed, developed and soon to be produced in Martorell, the CUPRA Raval represents our commitment to electrification.
"As the first model to launch from the Electric Urban Car Family, a project we’re proud to lead for the Volkswagen Group, it also confirms our company’s position as an automotive powerhouse,” he continued.
Volkswagen Group's EVs
The car is the first model of the Electric Urban Car family, comprising four cars from the Volkswagen Group’s Brand Group’s Core, which begins with the production of the CUPRA Raval and followed by the Volkswagen ID.
In March 2026, Volkswagen Group announced plans to cut 50,000 jobs across the group by 2030 as it grappled with a 53% decline in operating profit.
Volkswagen Group brand Porsche suffered a €3.9bn (US$4.5bn) write-down as the brand sought to reposition itself, with Porsche CEO Michael Leiters saying in a statement: “"We will comprehensively reposition Porsche, make the company leaner, faster and the products even more desirable."
Despite this, electrification still makes up an important part of Volkswagen Group's strategy, particularly in Europe.
Announcing 2025 results, Volkswagen Group's CEO, Oliver Blume said: “After three intensive years of realignment within the Volkswagen Group, we are seeing tangible progress.
"At the same time, we are operating in a fundamentally different environment. We are therefore determined to continue to pursue the course we have set."
Europe has seen fairly strong performance for EVs in early 2026. According to data from PFA, new EV registrations in France from January to March 2026 were up from 18.2% in 2025 to 27.9% in 2026.
