Leading the electric revolution

Ford's lineup includes:

  • F-150 Lightning electric truck
  • E-Transit™: America's best-selling electric van
  • Transit commercial van
  • F-Series truck

Ford's all-electric commercial vehicles, including Class 1-7 trucks and vans, are designed to meet the needs of modern businesses. The all-electric E-Transit, for instance has estimated scheduled maintenance costs that are 48% less than those of a gas-powered 2024 Transit. Additionally, businesses can leverage smart charging software to schedule charging during off-peak hours, further reducing utility costs.

Smart charging for a smarter future

Ford all-new transit custom

The new automated demand-to-grid response solution in Ford Pro's Charging Software is a significant advancement. The feature reacts to grid events in California, such as high local demand, by automatically pausing charging, alerting the customer, and resuming charging when the event is over.

The capability helps reduce the burden on the grid, minimising the risk of brownouts and blackouts and contributing to a more resilient power system.

Ford Pro will manage the enrollment process for customers in various California grid demand response programs.

These programs, which include grid capacity management, energy programs, emergency load programs, and the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) carbon credits program, are crucial for managing energy use and supporting sustainability initiatives.

Supporting California's electric transition

Ted Cannis, CEO of Ford Pro

Ted Cannis, CEO of Ford Pro, highlights California's pioneering role in the EV sector: "California is an EV pioneer, and new regulations aim to accelerate businesses' electric transition. We're here to do the heavy lifting and help companies navigate the complexities of electrification, helping them be more productive and efficient as they add EVs to their fleet. Our smart charging software helps businesses effectively manage their charging operations, including scheduled charging to avoid peak periods when electricity is in high demand at high rates and automated participation in grid events."

Ford Pro's introduction of the Smart Charging Bundle in California represents a significant step forward in supporting businesses with EV fleets. By providing advanced charging solutions and comprehensive support, Ford Pro is helping businesses transition smoothly to EVs, enhancing productivity and efficiency while contributing to a sustainable future.
