Contigo Mobility launches CoMoTo, an innovative electric motorcycle ridesharing service transforming London's urban transportation landscape

Contigo Mobility (CoMo), operating in the EV mobility sector in Southeast Asia has announce its expansion into the UK with the launch of CoMoTo, an electric motorcycle ridesharing service in London.

The expansion marks a significant milestone for CoMo as it ventures beyond Asia and introduces its innovative EV solutions to the European market.

The soft launch of CoMoTo took place on Boxing Day, offering Londoners an exclusive preview of the service.

During this initial phase, select users had the opportunity to experience the convenience and sustainability of CoMoTo's cutting-edge electric motorcycles.

The service has received an overwhelmingly positive response, paving the way for a full public rollout by the end of January 2025.

Zuhri Yusof, CEO of Contigo Technology Group.

"Our expansion to London reflects our commitment to creating greener cities through sustainable mobility solutions," said Zuhri Yusof, CEO of Contigo Technology Group.

"We're thrilled to introduce CoMoTo to one of the world's most vibrant and dynamic urban landscapes. This launch is a testament to our vision of a connected, eco-friendly future for urban transportation."

CoMoTo aims to transform how Londoners navigate their city by offering an eco-conscious alternative to traditional ridesharing. With a focus on zero-emission transportation, CoMoTo's electric motorcycles are designed to reduce traffic congestion and lower carbon emissions.

The service will be accessible through an intuitive mobile app, allowing users to conveniently locate, book and ride electric motorcycles.

Key features of CoMoTo include:
  • Eco-Friendly Transportation: 100% electric motorcycles with zero emissions.
  • Convenient Access: A user-friendly app for easy booking and real-time vehicle tracking.
  • Affordable Rides: Competitive pricing to ensure sustainability is accessible to all.

London is the first step in Contigo Mobility's broader strategy to expand its footprint across Europe. As part of its commitment to sustainability, CoMoTo aligns with the UK's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, making it an ideal partner in the country's green mobility agenda.

The launch of CoMoTo comes as London actively seeks innovative solutions to address urban mobility challenges.

With the recent news of e-scooter operator Voi considering withdrawing from the city due to financial unsustainability, CoMoTo's electric motorcycle service could fill a crucial gap in the market.

Contigo Mobility Accelerator Ltd, the UK subsidiary of CoMo, was incorporated on 29 April 2024, indicating the company's strategic planning for the expansion.

The government has implemented various initiatives to support the transition to EVs in the UK. The plug-in motorcycle grant, which will continue until at least April 2025 for L3 motorcycles, could benefit CoMoTo's operations by making electric motorcycles more accessible to consumers.

As London continues to explore sustainable transportation options, CoMoTo's electric motorcycle ridesharing service offers a unique solution that combines the agility of two-wheeled vehicles with the environmental benefits of electric propulsion. The pilot could further address some of the challenges other micro-mobility services face in the city, such as the issues with e-scooter parking and regulation.

With the full public rollout of CoMoTo expected by the end of January 2025, Londoners will soon have access to a new, eco-friendly mode of transportation that promises to enhance urban mobility while contributing to the city's sustainability goals.

As the service grows, it will be interesting to see how it integrates with London's existing transportation network and influences the future of urban mobility in the UK capital.
