Under José's leadership, Hyundai has strengthened its commitment to agility, transparency and collaboration across global markets, with electrification emerging as a critical component of this strategy.

"Our success in 2025 proved that adapting is truly part of our DNA."

Entering 2026, he urged employees to lead with confidence and unity as Hyundai accelerates its electric vehicle ambitions.

Three pillars support electric future

Hyundai's roadmap for 2026 rests on three pillars: resilience, adaptability and cross-functional alignment.

José describes these as "key strengths to confidently lead future mobility".

He credited the global workforce for helping achieve "outstanding results while managing complexity", particularly in expanding its electrified portfolio.

"Looking toward 2026 and beyond," José said, "our strength lies in the quality and safety of our products, the flexibility of our strategy across powertrains and markets, and most importantly, the talent and commitment of our people."

Electrification targets shape 2030 vision

Electric vehicle development sits at the heart of Hyundai's long-term strategy.

By 2030, Hyundai Motor Company targets 5.55 million global vehicle sales, with electrified models accounting for 60% of total volume.

Genesis, Hyundai's luxury division, is spearheading this evolution.

The brand is introducing hybrid and extended-range models in 2026, demonstrating how electrification extends across Hyundai's portfolio.

The new GV60 Magma, Genesis's first high-performance vehicle, represents this next phase of sustainable luxury, combining electric power with premium positioning.

Strategic partnerships are accelerating Hyundai's electric ambitions.

Collaboration with Amazon has generated a 41% increase in dealer engagement, whilst projects with Waymo and GM are advancing vehicle co-development and testing of autonomous electric platforms.

José said that these partnerships "position us to lead the future of mobility".

Global competition through green technology

Hyundai's strategic focus extends beyond electric technology to competing effectively across international markets.

Yeongho Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Operations, says: "We are responding to new competitors with differentiated service experiences, strategic financial partnerships and a strengthened eco-friendly powertrain portfolio."

Closing the event, JosĂ© reflected on the mission underpinning Hyundai's growth strategy, saying: "Our Executive Chair's 'Progress for Humanity' vision is a commitment to make mobility safer, more sustainable and more accessible for everyone.

"That starts with how we treat each other, how we serve our customers and how we show up every day."

Hyundai's journey towards 2026 focuses on expanding its electric vehicle capabilities and leading with purpose in an evolving automotive landscape.
