Guided Energy's AI Platform Transforms Electric Fleets

Guided Energy to streamline EV fleet management
Guided Energy secures US$5.2m from Sequoia Capital & Dynamo Ventures to revolutionise commercial EV operations with a new AI-driven platform

Guided Energy has raised US$5.2m in its work to shake up its electric vehicle operations, with a new AI platform designed to streamline activities for commercial EVs, after securing multi-million seed funding from Sequoia Capital and Dynamo Ventures

Guided Energy is a platform for fleets to charge and operate their electric vehicles, where charging sessions can be scheduled and drivers can receive disruption alerts.

Transforming fleet electrification with unified systems and data integration

The funding will be used to onboard commercial EVs across delivery, transportation and car rental fleets. Sixt and Addison Lee are two mobility providers already on board.

The Guided platform uses AI to support EV fleets save up to US$10,000 per EV each year, with higher vehicle productivity and reduced operating costs.

While fleets have been digitising their processes for years, Anant Kapoor, co-founder and CEO of Guided Energy, knows that electrification offers fresh systems and data that is incompatible with such operations.

“By breaking these silos, fleets have a unified view across their entire EV operations, allowing them to use upcoming routes or jobs to schedule charging and real-time EV data to plan their dispatch and more,” says Kapoor.

Revolutionising electric fleet management

Marc Aubrée, Managing Director of Sixt France, knows that the need to electrify its fleet means that branches have to adapt the way they work to EVs, particularly when it comes to recharging.

“Guided Energy will optimise our use of charging infrastructure both on-site and on the road, enabling us to maximise utilisation over the course of a day, while embedding external charging solutions directly into our operations,” says Aubrée.

“Addison Lee has already electrified over a thousand vehicles in our transition towards renewable transport,” adds Richard Davies, Director of data and commercial finance at Addison Lee. “Guided Energy is a critical enabler by leveraging data across EVs and chargers to optimise our ride allocations and charging so that we can deliver a better electric experience to both our drivers and customers.”

Bryan Schreier, Partner at Sequoia, says that by leveraging machine learning, the platform gives customers an easier and cheaper way to charge, operate and manage their electric vehicles.

“Guided Energy is building the operating system for the future of sustainable fleets,” Schreier says. “Anant and Eric’s complementary backgrounds combining logistics product management and ML capabilities make them the ideal team to tackle this problem. We’re excited to partner with them on this next phase of growth.”
