Lex Coors
Chief Data Center Technology and Engineering Officer Visiting Professor at the University of East London
Lex Coors has 30 years of experience in the design of versatile, cost-effective and energy-efficient data centre infrastructure. He has supervised the design and build process for more than 70 data centres and developed close to 600,000m² of gross space with over 300,000m² net space across Western Europe and Africa.
In his role as Chief Datacenter Technology and Engineering Officer at Digital Realty, Lex has pioneered several new approaches to data centre design and management, including the improvement of power ratio efficiency between server load and transformer load, and the industry’s first ever modular approach to data centre architecture.
Lex is also a Visiting Professor at the University of East London, a Board member of the Climate Neutral Catacenter Pact, Chair of the EUDCA Policy Committee, Stakeholder at the EU JRC, and is a member of the iMasons Advisory Council and Governing Body. He has received several awards for his contributions to the data center industry, including the 2022 iMasons Technology Champion Award.
