Until now, managing multiple EVs on a single account meant users had to manually change the primary vehicle or adjust charging settings for different cars. Ohme's MultiCar functionality eliminates these hurdles by allowing users to add multiple EVs to their account and effortlessly switch between them when selecting which vehicle to charge.

A significant step forward for EV owners

Ohme's latest development reinforces its commitment to innovation and user-centric solutions.

David Watson, CEO at Ohme

David Watson, CEO at Ohme, states: "Innovation and constant progression are core values at Ohme. This new MultiCar function in our app is a great example of those and a major step forward for the growing number of households with more than one EV.

"This eagerly-awaited addition to our app just underlines how Ohme always strives to ensure that no driver is left behind in the e-mobility transition."

The MultiCar feature offers significant convenience for households managing multiple EVs, providing flexibility and efficiency in the charging process. By adding multiple vehicles to a single account, users can ensure that each EV receives the correct charging schedule and level of charge without unnecessary manual adjustments.

Enhanced cost management and transparency

A key advantage of the MultiCar feature is its ability to differentiate between personal and company cars, helping users track and manage associated charging costs more effectively. The functionality is particularly valuable for those needing to claim home charging expenses, as it provides clear, itemised charging data for each vehicle.

Additionally, visitors with EVs who need to charge can be temporarily added to the account, ensuring a hassle-free charging experience without complex configurations.

Ohme offers enhanced cost management and transparency

As with existing Ohme app features, the MultiCar function provides users individual data for each vehicle linked to the account.

It includes a comprehensive breakdown of charging sessions, detailing kilowatt-hours (kWh) of charge, costs and usage statistics by day, month or year. Such insights allow users to track energy consumption for personal and business needs accurately.

Leading the way in smart EV charging

Since its inception, Ohme has been at the forefront of smart EV charging solutions. It is the only home charging provider in the UK that has maintained compatibility with all energy tariffs.

Its chargers support the latest dynamic tariffs, including Intelligent Octopus Go and OVO Charger Anytime. They enable drivers to benefit from real-time connectivity to the national grid and automatically adjust their charging schedules for low-cost electricity periods.

Ohme's industry partnerships further highlight its leadership in the sector. It serves as the official charging provider for major automotive brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Volvo Cars, and the Volkswagen Group in the UK and Ireland, as well as Smart and Hyundai in the UK.

Additionally, Ohme is the exclusive charging provider for customers on the Motability scheme and the UK's largest fleet operator.

Ohme's dedication to innovation and user-focused solutions has earned it industry recognition. It recently secured two prestigious awards in the 2024 What Wallcharger? Awards, winning accolades for the ePod charger and best tariff integration.

With the introduction of the MultiCar function, Ohme continues to set new standards in EV home charging, ensuring that multi-EV households can manage their charging needs effortlessly while maximising cost efficiency.

As EV adoption grows, solutions like MultiCar will play a crucial role in making the transition to electric mobility smoother and more accessible for all drivers.
