With over 30 years of industry experience at Bosch, Steffen is stepping into a role tailor-made for his expertise. He succeeded Vonjy Rajakoba and returned to a position he had held from 2015 to 2020.

Steffen brings a deep understanding of the evolving EV landscape and a unique perspective on driving growth in challenging market conditions. His leadership is expected to usher in a more integrated approach across Bosch's European operations, enhancing synergies and fostering greater collaboration across key markets. His appointment signals a strategic move towards unifying efforts and leveraging collective strengths to navigate the fast-paced future of the EV industry.

Steffen's journey with Bosch is a testament to his extensive experience and commitment to the company. He began his career with Bosch over 32 years ago, starting as a Management Trainee in Germany. Over the decades, he has held vital global positions, showcasing his versatility and leadership capabilities. Following his initial tenure as Managing Director of Bosch UK and Ireland, he took on the role of President of Bosch Russia, where he served until 2022. His leadership in Russia was marked by strategic growth and navigating complex market dynamics. Most recently, Steffen has been responsible for overseeing Bosch's operations across Northern & Eastern Europe, a role that has expanded his expertise in managing large-scale, multi-country operations.

In his new position, Steffen will continue to oversee the Northern & Eastern Europe region while leading Bosch UK & Ireland. The dual responsibility is expected to bring a more integrated approach to the company's operations across Europe, leveraging synergies and fostering greater cooperation across key markets. Bosch's decision to appoint him underscores the company's confidence in his ability to drive continued growth and innovation in the region.

With 25 years of experience, Baris' deep expertise and forward-thinking approach are poised to elevate the company to new heights.  His vision will be instrumental in steering the company through the fast-changing and evolving automotive landscape.

The promotion recognises Baris' exceptional contributions since joining GM in September 2023. He has played a pivotal role in advancing vehicle operating systems and enhancing digital solutions. His leadership has been instrumental in elevating quality testing and validation processes as well as setting new standards for excellence and innovation at GM.

Baris brings with him extensive experience in product development, engineering and design, including an impressive track record at some of the world's leading technology companies. Before joining GM, he held critical positions at Microsoft, Amazon and Apple, where he honed his expertise in driving technological advancements and delivering cutting-edge solutions. 

During his tenure at Apple, Baris served as Senior Director of Product Management, where he led the launch of several groundbreaking services. His leadership was vital in introducing Apple Pay, Apple Cash and Apple Card, which transformed how consumers interact with financial services. Additionally, he spearheaded the development of iCloud services such as Photos, Drive and Find My, which have become integral to millions of users worldwide.

Dave Richardson’s New Role at GM: Leading the Charge in Software Innovation

General Motors is excited to announce that Dave will be taking on a pivotal role in propelling the company’s vehicle operating systems and digital platforms into the future. With his deep expertise in infrastructure innovation, Dave will play a crucial role in advancing software-defined vehicle development, cloud platforms and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). His leadership promises to seamlessly blend horsepower with processing power, mastering the complexities of powering EVs.

In this expanded role, Dave will oversee all aspects of GM's software engineering, including embedded platforms, digital products, commercial solutions and ADAS. His efforts will be key to driving continuity, speed and quality in GM's software development, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of automotive technology.

Since joining GM in September 2023, Dave has been instrumental in building the company’s vehicle operating and digital systems. He has enhanced quality testing and validation processes, setting the stage for software to become a central part of GM’s customer experience. His new role places him at the forefront of GM’s push into electric, autonomous and connected vehicles.

Dave brings a wealth of experience to this position, having spent 12 years at Apple as an engineering leader. There he drove innovation and efficiency in the infrastructure behind critical services like iCloud, FaceTime and Siri. He co-founded the cloud computing company Skytap, where he served as chief scientist and founding advisor for the online marketplace Dibspace.

Olaf Schick: Leading Continental's Financial Strategy in the EV Industry

Continental is pleased to announce that Olaf Schick has assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer as of July 1, 2024. Olaf is crucial in driving Continental's EV growth by strategically allocating funds to support tyre manufacturing, vehicle electronics, telematics and autonomous driving systems. His leadership ensures that innovation is balanced with financial stability, aligning strategic investments with Continental's long-term goals and budget constraints.

In a strategic move, the Supervisory Board has decided to merge the Finance function with Integrity and Law, entrusting these responsibilities to Olaf. The decision highlights Olaf's exceptional track record and broad expertise, which will strengthen Continental's leadership team as it moves forward.

Olaf joined Continental's Executive Board in May 2023, initially overseeing Integrity and Law. His extensive experience in finance, portfolio management and governance has made him an invaluable asset to the company. Before his tenure at Continental, Olaf held critical roles at Mercedes-Benz Group China and Daimler AG, serving as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. His international experience includes eight years in China, where he worked on mergers, acquisitions and strategic initiatives.

Olaf succeeds Katja Garcia Vila, who has decided not to renew her term on the Executive Board. Continental acknowledges her outstanding contributions over her 27-year career and wishes her the best in her future endeavours.

Under Olaf's leadership, Continental is poised to enhance its financial strategy and drive innovation and growth in the rapidly evolving EV industry.
